NHL DFS Picks & Daily Fantasy Playbook Today, April 1st
Before we get into our NHL DFS picks, let’s make some pick’em picks for the night over on Sleeper.
There are lots of ways we try to fill your wallet over here at Fantasy Alarm and this is just another option.
NHL Pick 'Em Picks On Sleeper Fantasy Today
- Alex Ovechkin O/0.5 PPP
- Zach Werenski O/3.5 SOG
- Drake Batherson O/0.5 G
Alex Ovechkin's quest to become the greatest goalscorer in NHL history continues tonight against Boston. The Bruins are in the bottom third of the league on the penalty kill and we all know that Ovechkin plays the entire two minutes on the power play. We are getting fantastic value for him to record a point with the man advantage.
Zach Werenski is starting to heat up again slowly. He’s not racking up as many points in the last five games, but his shot volume is back to what we expect. Getting him at 3.5 with a high multiplier is hard to ignore. We’ll take a swing at it against a Nashville team that can’t defend.
Of Drake Batherson’s 21 goals this season, 15 of them have come on home ice. We went with him on Saturday, and he didn’t disappoint us. Brady Tkachuk will miss this game due to injury, so that gives Batherson even more chances to find the back of the net. The Sabres may be scoring more goals of late, but they can’t keep the puck out of their own net and that will continue tonight.
Tuesday Salary Cap NHL DFS Picks
Goalie Of The Day: Darcy Kuemper - LAK
Darcy Kuemper finally lost his second game in regulation on home ice against the Leafs, but that doesn’t mean we don’t go back to him. His record is now 16-2-2 and his numbers are still beyond elite.
Like Saturday, he has a tough matchup against Winnipeg, but that has helped push his price tag down and will also keep his ownership low.
Honorable Mention: Elvis Merzlikins - CBJ
I don’t trust Elvis Merzlikins to have a strong game, but I trust the Nashville Predators even less. They can’t score goals on the road, and they are missing some key players in their lineup.
Columbus is a better team on home ice, so at worst, they will give Merzlikins all the goal support needed. His record on home ice is good, but he needs the win in order to hit value.
Player Of The Day: Nikita Kucherov - TBL
Nikita Kucherov is so elite, and not enough people are talking about it. He has 109 points on the season and has 11 in his last three games.
The Russian winger had four points against the Islanders last game, and he could very well have the same type of game tonight. He is a threat to hit value every time he takes the ice.
Honorable Mention: Nick Suzuki - MTL
Nick Suzuki is an elite centerman in the NHL and I will fight anyone who tells me otherwise. He has been one of the best players since the 4Nations tournament and has racked up 12 points in the last 10 games.
DraftKings is giving him a discount because they don’t know how elite he is, but you and I do, so let’s take advantage of this. He can be used in all formats as part of a stack or a single-bullet.
Value Play Of The Day: Ridley Greig - OTT
With Brady out of the lineup, there is a spot on the top power play unit that is up for grabs. It looks like Ridley Greig is going to get a chance to join that unit and that is a good thing.
His shot volume is decent, and his price tag is over $5K on DK. The upside is there for him, but he does have to find the scoresheet.
Honorable Mention: Lane Hutson - MTL
Lane Hutson has five assists in the last three games, so naturally, DK has dropped his price tag by $700 in that same span. Why? We’ll never know, but disrespect will NOT be tolerated.
The rookie isn’t a shooting machine, and we know he’s not a goal scorer, but he can rack up assists and plays a ton of minutes. At his $4400 price tag, it’s hard to find a defenceman for tonight with more upside than him.
Stack Of The Day - STL PP2 (Jordan Kyrou - Dylan Holloway - Justin Faulk)
We haven’t talked about the St. Louis Blues yet and we need some exposure to them. This team doesn’t lose anymore. They have won 9 in a row and are showing no signs of slowing down. We know the Red Wings are #NotGood on the penalty kill, so we need to take advantage.
Usually, we target the top unit, but I like the second one better. All three players can rack up points on the man advantage and five-on-five. You could add an extra player to this stack or target another matchup with a team that is also bad at killing penalties *cough* Islanders *cough*.
