Brady Tkachuk is looking forward to the start of the 2022-23 season.
Ottawa made some big changes this offseason, including trades to acquire Alex DeBrincat and Cam Talbot as well as the signing of Claude Giroux. "Everybodyâ??s buzzing right now with all of these moves," Tkachuk said. "Itâ??s so exciting to go back and talk to a lot of guys and they want the season to get started ASAP. Thatâ??s just how excited our team is and we have a full belief with our group that we can take that next step and itâ??s going to be a lot of fun." He is also looking forward to seeing his brother much more often this year. Matthew was traded to Florida this summer in a blockbuster deal with the Calgary Flames.
Brady Tkachuk spoke about the nagging injuries that he thinks will keep him out of the World Championships.
"I've been dealing with a couple of hand things. The first one happened in January I think. I also have some back and knee issues," Tkachuk said. He still managed to take big steps forward this season, scoring 30 goals and 67 points in 79 contests. He's planning on resting up and getting ready for the 2022-23 campaign.
Don't expect Brady Tkachuk to play for the United States at the World Championships in May.

Brady Tkachuk picked up one goal and one assist during Friday's 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Tkachuk registered the only assist on Josh Norris' game-tying goal (1-1) in the second period. The Sens forward then added a power-play tally in the third which gave Ottawa a 3-2 lead at the time. That goal allowed him to reach the 30-goal mark for the first time in his NHL career. The 22-year-old finishes the year with a strong 67 points in 79 games. He's already one of the premiere power forwards in the league, and that should continue next year.
