NHL DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups & Stacks Today: Tuesday Playbook

Published: Mar 11, 2025
Welcome to another Playbook with our NHL DFS picks! We have a loaded 11-game slate with no shortage of elite options to choose from.
We have a lot to NHL DFS projections to navigate, because some of the expensive players don’t have fantastic matchups. This slate will be won by how good we are at targeting value. Let’s get right to it and see who we need to keep an eye on for today's NHL DFS picks.
NHL DFS Picks & Daily Fantasy Playbook Today, March 11th
Before we get into our actual NHL DFS picks, let’s make some pick’em picks for the night over on Sleeper.
There are lots of ways we try to fill your wallet over here at Fantasy Alarm and this is just another option.
NHL Pick 'Em Picks On Sleeper Fantasy Today
- Sam Reinhart O/2.5 SOG
- Macklin Celebrini O/3.5 SOG
- Matvei Michkov O/2.5 SOG
I’m just going to leave Sam Reinhart here until Sleeper starts giving him some respect. He’s gone over the number in six straight games and gets a fantastic matchup against the Bruins, who are down bad due to injuries and lack of skill. Florida will have possession of the puck for the majority of the game, meaning Reinhart can hit this number earlier rather than later.
Don’t look now, but Macklin Celebrini is starting to heat up. The kid has 18 shots in his last three games, TEN of which came last game against the Islanders. He’s a dynamic player and he faces a Nashville team that isn’t very good at defending. Celebrini is once again going to be counted on to produce offence, so he should see a healthy amount of ice time and that gives us even more confidence that he can go over his total.
The Ottawa Senators had no business beating the Red Wings on Monday night. Linus Ullmark made 48-saves as the Sens were outshot 49-23. Now they are in Philadelphia playing their second game in as many nights and their third in four days. I know the Flyers aren’t elite, but we’d be foolish not to take Matvei Michkov and his shot total. The kid has been shooting the puck a ton and the points are starting to add up. As long as John Tortorella doesn’t nail him to the end of the bench, Michkov is going over.
Tuesday Salary Cap NHL DFS Picks
Goalie Of The Day: Darcy Kuemper - LAK
The Los Angeles Kings and Darcy Kuemper are just so good on home ice. Kuemper has an 11-1-2 record with a 1.98 GAA and faces an Islanders team that is ranked 25th in goals per game but 10th in shots. This is a perfect formula for Kuemper to hit value. You can use him in any format that your heart desires.
Honorable Mention: Alexandar Georgiev - SJ
I don’t feel good about Alexandar Georgiev tonight and the thought of having him in my DFS lineup makes me want to vomit, but we can’t ignore the number. Nashville has been scoring more goals of late, but they are still ranked 30th in that department on the season despite being 5th in shots. In short, they love to shoot but can’t score.
They also can’t win on the road, posting a 7-20-4 record. Both previous matchups were high scoring affairs, but I’m not buying the high goal total for tonight. I’ll take my chances with Georgiev in a GPP and just hope for the best.
Player Of The Day: Cale Makar - COL
Colorado may be playing their second game in as many nights, but that doesn’t mean we just fade them. Nathan MacKinnon is coming off a historic night, becoming the newest member of the 1000 points club, but his road numbers this season have been average, so I don’t like the idea of paying over $9K for him.
Instead, we can get Cale Makar at $8000 and with just as much upside. His splits are about even, and he has 17 points in the last ten games. If you’re building a cash game lineup, you might as well start with Makar.
Honorable Mention: Sidney Crosby - PIT
The Pittsburgh Penguins may be a terrible hockey team, but Sidney Crosby is still an elite hockey player. His matchup against Vegas isn’t great, but the Pens captain has 41 points in 32 games at home and gets to face Ilya Samsonov, who has not been very good on the road. There’s a good chance we can Sid at low ownership on such a large slate.
Value Play Of The Day: Klim Kostin - SJ
We are taking another shot with Klim Kostin tonight because the matchup is too good to avoid. He’s skating on the second line with Celebrini and Will Smith and played a season high 16 minutes against the Islanders. That’s not bad for a player that doesn’t see any power play time. He has just seven points on the season, but his $2600 price tag means we can flirt with value without having to register a point. If he does find the scoresheet, it’s a nice bonus.
Honorable Mention: Kent Johnson - CBJ
We know that the Columbus Blue Jackets on the road are #NotGood, but there is still some value to exploit. Kent Johnson is skating on the second line and his show volume is actually better on the road. He’s skating on the top power play and second line, so his ice time is pretty secure.
The Devils are dealing with some significant injuries, and the Blue Jackets are in the thick of trying to make the playoffs. There’s enough value here to consider him as a single-bullet in all formats.
Stack Of The Day - WSP PP1 (Tom Wilson - Pierre-Luc Dubois - Alex Ovechkin)
The Anaheim Ducks are bad at killing penalties and Alex Ovechkin is the power play goal scoring king. You know he’s going to be out there for the full two minutes just firing clappers from his office, and when he does that enough, the puck tends to find the back of the net. Any combination of the top power play unit works for me, but the three names above give you the best value.

Player News
Ivica Zubac had a productive outing, finishing with 27 points (11-of-15 FGs, 5-of-8 FTs), five rebounds, one assist and two blocks in the Game 5 loss to the Nuggets on Tuesday.
Zubac continued to score the ball well, finishing with a series-high in points on efficient shooting. However, Zubac’s usual impact on the glass was absent, securing just five rebounds in Game 5 after tallying at least nine in the previous four, with his one assist also tying his lowest output of the series. Down in the series 3-2, the Clippers head back to Los Angeles for Game 6 on Thursday, where they face a must-win situation to keep their season alive.
James Harden concluded Tuesday’s Game 5 loss to the Nuggets with 11 points (3-of-9 FGs, 5-of-8 FTs), eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in 35 minutes.
Harden had a quiet night on Tuesday, barely cracking double figures in scoring and failing to register double-digit shot attempts. The 2018 NBA MVP has faced a stifling Nuggets defense that, over the last few games, has forced the ball out of his hands, leading to inferior performances compared to earlier games in the series. Harden will look for a bounce-back performance on Thursday as he tries to lead the Clippers to a season-saving victory in Game 6.
Kawhi Leonard stuffed the stat sheet in Tuesday’s Game 5 loss to the Nuggets, posting 20 points (8-of-15 FGs, 3-of-7 FTs), nine rebounds, 11 assists, one steal, two blocks and one three-pointer.
Leonard did a little bit of everything for the Clippers in Game 5. The two-time NBA Finals MVP posted a series-high in assists and also hit the glass hard, resulting in a near-triple-double. Leonard has scored at least 20 points in all five games of this series. However, the Clippers may need even more from him going forward as they look to extend their season beyond Thursday’s Game 6 at the Intuit Dome.
Nikola Jokic earned a triple-double in the Nuggets’ Game 5 win on Tuesday over the Clippers, finishing with 13 points (4-of-13 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), 10 rebounds, 12 assists, one steal, two blocks and one three-pointer.
The three-time NBA MVP had a relatively quiet game by his standards, but still came away with his third triple-double of the series. Jokic struggled with shooting efficiency, and his scoring output was the lowest of the series. Yet, his points were not as necessary in this game, given how well the rest of the Nuggets shot the ball. Nevertheless, Jokic will be in line for another big performance on Thursday when the Nuggets face the Clippers in Game 6.
Russell Westbrook came off the bench and produced 21 points (8-of-15 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound, one assist and three three-pointers in the Nuggets’ Game 5 win over the Clippers on Tuesday.
Westbrook was electric in his first game back in the lineup following a foot injury that kept him out of Game 4. His second-quarter scoring ignited the crowd and helped set the table for what would be his highest-scoring game of the postseason. The 2017 NBA MVP has had himself a nice series thus far from a scoring standpoint and will have a chance to end his former team’s season on Thursday in Game 6.
Teoscar Hernández went 4-for-5 with two doubles, four RBI, and two runs scored to lead the Dodgers to a 15-2 win over the Marlins on Tuesday.
Hernández continues to come through with runners on for the Dodgers as he drove in four on Tuesday on four hits, including two doubles. The 32-year-old slugger is up to an MLB-high 31 RBI while slashing .297/.313/.613 with nine homers and two steals across 116 plate appearances.
