NHL DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups & Predictions Today: Friday Playbook, 10/25
Published: Oct 25, 2024
We only have four games on tonight’s slate, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have options. The Edmonton Oilers have a 4.3 implied team total, and three of the four games have a 6.5 total.
There will be some goals scored tonight, but we can’t just pick Connor McDavid and move on. We need to find some value, so let’s get right into it.
NHL DFS Picks & Daily Fantasy Playbook Today, October 25th
Before we get into DFS, let’s make some pick’em picks for the night over on Sleeper Fantasy.
There are lots of ways we try to fill your wallet over here at Fantasy Alarm and this is just another option.
Sleeper NHL Picks, Friday, October 25th:
- Connor Bedard O/3.5 SOG
- Connor McDavid O/1.5 PTS
- Jake Allen O/27.5 SV
Connor Bedard is a player who loves to shoot the puck and he’s going to get his chances tonight. Chicago can get Bedard a favorable matchup on home ice, so there’s no reason for him not to hit the over.
Connor McDavid is off to a “slow start” this season, but he is the best player on the planet and gets a matchup with a below-average Penguins team. He scored two goals last game, so maybe he’s heating up?
Jake Allen got roughed up in his last start, but so far this season, he’s been really good. The Devils are playing the tail end of a back-to-back and the Islanders are surprisingly top-5 in shots per game on the road (35/gm). If he doesn’t get pulled, he has a chance to hit the over.
NHL DFS Lineup Picks, 10/25
Goalie Of The Day: Jake Allen - NJD
Jake Allen is also my Goalie of The Day. As mentioned above, the Devils are playing their second game in as many nights and are going to need Allen to make some saves.
He has allowed nine goals this season and eight of them came in the last game. He’s in a great spot tonight against an Islanders team that can shoot the puck, but not score.
Play Of The Day: Evan Bouchard - EDM
Evan Bouchard only has two points this season, but it’s not all his fault. Edmonton’s power play is operating at 10% and that’s just not good enough. Bouchard needs the power play to work for him to rack up points.
He has 10 shots on goal in the last two games and played a season-high 28 minutes against Carolina. I don’t think he plays that much in this game, but he’s an elite defenseman at a discounted price on DraftKings.
Value Play Of The Day: Viktor Arvidsson - EDM
Victor Arvidsson is playing in the top-6 and has exactly *checks notes* zero points. That’s a problem. He was brought over to Edmonton to contribute offensively, and he needs to start doing just that.
He’s getting a shot to play on the top power play unit and once that unit gets going, look out. I don’t love his $4500 price tag on DK, but I think it’s fair considering the team he plays for and the opportunity he’s getting.
Stack Of The Day - EDM PP1 (Connor McDavid - Viktor Arvidsson - Evan Bouchard)
Can you tell that I’m high on the Oilers power play tonight? Look, they are too good to be this bad. It’s going to click at some point and I’m hoping it’s tonight.
The Penguins are rolling out Joel Blomqvist, who hasn’t been terrible in his three starts, but he’s still a third-string goalie on a below-average team. I’m shooting for the moon here and I hope the Oilers power play can carry us to the top of the GPP ladder.
