NHL Best Bets and Betting Picks: November 16th
It was a stalemate last night in the NHL Best Bets as the Islanders could hold the line against Vancouver but no matter, on to a new day in the NHL where we have 9 games to kick around including one taking place in Sweden this afternoon. Won't be wagering on that one but it should be a great game, as for the wagers we are looking at there are a trio that make a lot of sense to me today including a game total, Money Line and 60-minute Money Line! If you like the rationale then tail the picks, if you don't feel free to fade as sometimes the best bets are the ones not taken!

NHL Best Bets for November 16
Tampa Bay Lightning at Chicago Blackhawks
As long as the goaltending situation in Tampa Bay is in shambles I am going to take a gander at game totals involving them! The Lightning are allowing 3.69 goals per game this season which is the 4th most in the NHL and has no signs of slowing down as Jonas Johansson is awful with a 3.46 GAA and projected to be tonight's starter. This has led to the Lightning going over in 10 of their 16 games and with a matchup against Chicago that trend should continue. The Blackhawks allow 3.46 goals per game on defense and while their offense can be inconsistent they have scored 15 goals in the last 4 games. They have also hit the over on the game total in 5 of their last 6 games. These two teams played just last week too in a 5-3 barn burner, let's run it back!
Pick: Lightning & Blackhawks Over 6.5 Goals (-125 on Caesars)
St. Louis Blues at San Jose Sharks
I believe the expression is, when you're hot, you're hot and that is where we find the Blues right now. They are winners straight up in 5 of the past 6 games and are winning many in convincing fashion blowing out the Lightning and Avalanche on their way to outscoring opponents 27-12 during that stretch. I personally think the Blues can't sustain this play for much longer but against the league's worst team I think it'll ride for one more night. All of the Blues analytics are concerning but the Sharks are worse of course and with Jordan Binnington starting for St. Louis with his 2.27 GAA I think they get along just fine tonight and win in regulation.
Pick: St. Louis Blues 60-Min Money Line (-130 on PointsBet)
Arizona Coyotes at Columbus Blue Jackets
Normally this isn't the kind of game to catch my attention but when there is value to be had I jump right in! The Blue Jackets are home underdogs tonight and while its fair based on overall record if you go deeper you'll see its closer to a 50/50 game. The Blue Jackets aren't a great team granted but they do play better at home as their Corsi metrics rise about 2 points and their xGF/60 goes from 2.24 to 2.41. On the away side the Coyotes are just 3-6 straight up when out of the desert and they're a younger team prone to mistakes. Willing to take a stab here in a slate where the numbers are tight and bet on Columbus Money Line.
Pick: Columbus Blue Jackets Money Line (+110 on BetMGM)
