Published: Dec 18, 2021
Welcome to another edition of the Fantasy Hockey Injury Report. The injury report is going to keep you up to date on all the important injuries going on around the league, and how that might affect your fantasy hockey team. Make sure to check back regularly for any updates. Let’s take a look at some players that are either ruled out, or that we need to monitor.
Note: If you’re looking for the most up-to-date COVID-19 information regarding players who are out of the lineup, you can find that here.
Calvin Petersen - Los Angeles Kings - Undisclosed
There’s no word as to what Calvin Petersen might be dealing with, but we know that it’s not COVID-19 related. The Kings netminder has struggled this season, and it looks like he’s slowly losing his starting job to veteran Jonathan Quick. We should get more news about the injury early next week.
MacKenzie Blackwood - New Jersey Devils - Neck
It has not been a good week for goalies. Devils goalie MacKenzie Blackwood is out of action due to a neck injury, and there is no timetable for his return. We don’t know how serious the injury is, so it could be just one game, or could be multiple weeks. It’s been a difficult season for him, so maybe some time off will do him some good.
Artemi Panarin - New York Rangers - Lower-body
The New York Rangers held Artemi Panarin out of the lineup on Friday due to a lower-body injury and is considered day-to-day. The injury doesn’t seem serious, so maybe the team just wanted to give their elite winger an extra day off. Their next game is against the Canadiens on Wednesday, so we should get another update heading into the week, if that game even happens.
Carter Hart - Philadelphia Flyers - Illness
Flyers goalie Carter Hart will be out of the lineup due to what the team is calling an “illness.” It looks like the young goalie may have contracted COVID-19, but he’s yet to be placed onto the protocol list. It’s only a matter of time before we get the update, so expect him to be out of the lineup for at least a week.
Tom Wilson - Washington Capitals - Upper-body
Tom Wilson has now missed the last three games due to an upper-body injury and continues to be day-to-day. He’s been pretty good this season, so it’s actually a pretty significant loss for the Capitals, and for fantasy owners. Washington is in action on Sunday, so we’ll see if he’s able to return to the lineup for that game.
