Welcome to the fantasy hockey waiver wire report! As usual, every week, the weekly waiver wire report will help you target some players that you should be adding, or monitoring, on the waiver wire. You’ll want to check back through the week to see if players are added. The fantasy hockey season is a long one, but staying on top of the waiver wire will most certainly help keep your team competitive. Let’s see who we should be targeting this week.

Trevor Zegras - Anaheim Ducks - Center

It looks like Trevor Zegras is going to get a chance to showcase his skill in the NHL. We don’t know how good he’s going to be, but if Anaheim actually gives him a chance, he might be a great add for the remainder of the season. This is a speculative add, but his ownership has already increased by 18% over the last 24 hours on Yahoo!, so if you’re in a deeper league, and have the free roster spot, add him and let’s hope he can produce.

Nick Ritchie - Boston Bruins - Winger

It’s wild that Nick Ritchie has 13-points this season and is only 29% owned on Yahoo!. I didn’t even know that he was being this productive, but now that I’ve come back to planet earth, he needs to be on your roster. Boston will always be top line heavy, but Ritchie is seeing a decent amount of ice time on the second line, and has found a spot on the top power play unit. Even in shallow 10-12 team leagues, he should at least be on your bench as a great depth player.

Travis Boyd - Toronto Maple Leafs - Winger

With Joe Thornton out of the lineup due to injury, the Leafs are once again looking for a body to play right wing with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, and it looks like Travis Boyd is going to get that chance. If he actually does stick on that line, he’s worth adding short-term in deeper fantasy hockey leagues. Will he be productive? Who knows, but he’s getting a chance to play with the second best player in the NHL right now, so any production from him is a bonus.

Calvin Peterson - Los Angeles Kings - Goalie

I’m pretty sure we’ve already talked about Cal Peterson before, but let me remind everyone that he has a 2.43 GAA and a .926 SV% this season playing for the LA Kings. At some point, the team is going to realize that Jonathan Quick is no longer elite, and that Peterson needs to be playing more hockey. He’s the better of the two, so seeing him at 22% on Yahoo! is kind of surprising. If you need a goalie, he’s the one to target.

Dylan Cozens - Buffalo Sabres - Winger

It looks like Jeff Skinner has once again been demoted to the fourth line, which means Dylan Cozens is going to get another shot at proving himself. He’s expected to skate on the second line with Eric Staal and Taylor Hall, which should help him rack up some points. He’s a low risk/high reward player in deeper fantasy hockey leagues.
