Welcome to the fantasy hockey waiver wire report! We’ve made it to the playoffs, so the waiver wire becomes even more important. Every move made is going to be key, but the ones we miss might cost even more. Let’s see who we should be targeting this week.

Colin  Blackwell - New York Rangers - Winger

Volume in fantasy hockey is key, and Colin Blackwell is seeing an increase in ice time since being promoted to the second line with Ryan Strome and Artemi Panarin. I don’t know how long he’s going to be there, but he’s worth considering if you need a depth forward for at least another week.

Alex Barre-Boulet - Tampa Bay Lightning - Winger

I have no idea who Alex Barre-Boulet is, but I know that he’s skating on the top line with Brayden Point and Ondej Palat, and is seeing time on the top power play unit. The undrafted forward doesn’t have any points in four games this season, but he’s seeing some prime minutes, and that is key in fantasy hockey. He might be a speculative add at this point, but Steven Stamkos is done for the rest of the regular season, and we don’t know whenNikita Kucherov might be ready to return. I’d add Barre-Boulet just in case he gets hot down the stretch.

Sam Reinhart - Buffalo Sabres - Center

The Buffalo Sabres have officially been eliminated from the playoffs, but that doesn’t mean we are going to forget about them. Sam Reinhart has four goals in the last five games and is seeing a serious amount of ice time. Buffalo is going to lose a lot, but Reinhart is going to play a lot, and be productive. He’s 41% owned in Yahoo! leagues and is an excellent addition for fantasy playoff teams looking for some scoring depth.

David Krejci - Boston Bruins - Center

David Krejci has five points in the last four games and seems to be finding his stride. He has five goals on the season, three of them coming in the last four games. The addition of Taylor Hall might have something to do with it, and if that is the case, Krejci deserves to be on a fantasy hockey team. The Bruins need secondary scoring, and they still have a lot to play for as they try to secure a playoff spot. This is a great time to add the veteran forward.

Drake Batherson - Ottawa Senators - Winger

It’s an all forward edition of the waiver wire report this week! We’ve already talked about Drake Batehrson before, but the kid has 15 goals this season, playing for the Senators, and is only 25% owned in Yahoo! leagues. I don’t know why, because he clearly deserves to be on a fantasy team at this point in the season. The Canadian Division is a great division for players to score goals, and Batherson has been able to do that this year. Not only would I add him for this week, but I would probably hold onto him for the remainder of the fantasy season.
