Week 7 NFL DFS starts up for us today with a lesson learned from last week. Roster construction for cash lineups is all about building one with zero fat. That means you want to avoid using dart-throws or long-shot picks to round out your squad. Yes, it can be tough to do that, especially on Draft Kings, when you are using the most expensive quarterback and tight end, but there has to be some give and take. We tried it last week, locking in on George Pickens and Darius Slayton to help us save some money, but neither guy hit and, as a result, we end up missing if one of our top-priced guys or even one of our mid-tier plays doesn't make it. We'll look to make some additional adjustments to that this week and perhaps use the NFL DFS Lineup Generator and DFS Compare Tool a little bit more. Fortunately, we should be getting some decent value at the running back position again this week, which will certainly help.

As for building your GPP tournament lineups, as we showed you this week, one of the keys is pivoting off the games you believe everyone will be on and finding that pairing or potential stack that has lower ownership. With everyone on Bills/Chiefs and Seahawks/Cardinals, we found tremendous success identifying the Bengals/Saints game as one we expecting to pop and rolled with the Joe Burrow/Ja'Marr Chase pairing. I even said you could avoid the full stack should Tee Higgins play, so while in one Example Lineup I showed you the full stack using Tyler Boyd, I also built you a lineup with just the pairing and that one cashed in most GPP contests. We'll go through the games throughout the week to try and identify that for you.

Learning from the week before is paramount to your full-season success. I do my best with that each and every week as I always take it personally when someone loses. And when someone wins, like we saw plenty of this past week, it's not about taking credit or patting myself on the back. It's always, “What do I need to do this week so we can all win more?” They say “if you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'.” I say, “If you ain't learnin', you ain't earnin'!!” Now let's get to it!

The NFL DFS Playbook had a big week so we are seeing a lot of new subscribers coming in, so I'd like to start the NFL DFS Week 7 Watch List with a welcome to all of the new members of the Fantasy Alarm #FAmily. Our family continues to grow and I cannot express how thankful we are to have you join us.. Now it's up to us to help you cash consistently on your NFL DFS action and we are psyched to make that happen. Since you are new to the Watch List, allow me to share some thoughts real quick:

“If you give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for a lifetime.”

We take this adage to heart when it comes to playing NFL DFS. The Fantasy Alarm Playbook isn’t just about handing you a list of players and a lineup to use each week. It is designed to help you learn to be a better DFS player. It’s about teaching you the process used in selecting which players to scout and, eventually, which ones to use.

Therefore, we will begin each week with the Weekly NFL DFS Watch List which is designed to keep tabs on marquee names, chalk plays and, of course, the weekly bargains who may not see the same coverage and exposure. This piece will be continuously updated throughout the week, based on the most recent news and injuries, which means you may see a name or two removed as we get closer to Sunday kick-off. You may also see a few late-week additions who pique our interest for some reason too, and by the end of the week, this Watch List will eventually become your Playbook. Again, it’s about teaching you the process.

So what exactly did last week's Playbook deliver? As always, we like to check in to ensure we remain on the right path.

Scoring The Playbook Week 6

First and foremost, the Playbook and Dart Board crushed this past week. Yes, we had a few misses, but overall, if you were building lineups off just the Playbook and Dart Board alone, you should have cashed in 50/50s across the board as well as in your GPP tournaments, especially if you, again, locked into the Joe Burrow/Ja'Marr Chase tandem like I told you to. If you didn't, that's okay. We can work together to hone in on what your lineups are looking like and what the flaws may be.

When looking at the value, we identified the wide receivers as a weakness and while we improved on that this week, particularly on Draft Kings, we still had some misses so that will be a focus this week. One of the reasons that contributed was the pairing of players like Stefon Diggs/Gabe Davis, DK Metcalf/Tyler Lockett and Marquise Brown/Rondale Moore. That grouping alone caused me to cut Brandon Aiyuk who was in the Watch List all of last week, a move that, in hindsight, was regrettable.

And here are the top lineups you could have created on your own using ONLY the players from the Playbook and Dart Board:

All set? Are you ready to start diving into an early look at Week 7 NFL DFS? Let's do it!
