When it comes to playing DFS there are often week-to-week fluctuations in pricing for players based on performance and matchups. As we enter Week 3 of the NFL season and examine the NFL DFS Week 3 main slate on DraftKings let’s take a look at some players whose price tag has risen and decide whether or they are now worth spending up for as well as taking a look at those players who are cheaper this week and decide if their new value makes them a worthwhile play with matchups for Garrett Wilson, Kyle Pitts and Brandin Cooks worth examining.

DraftKings NFL Week 3 Salary Risers

Jalen Hurts, QB PHI - $7,600

In Week 2 we saw Hurts on the Monday night two-game slate priced at $7,100. In Week 1 he was priced at $6,800 in his matchup against the Lions. Over the first two weeks Hurts has been as good of a DFS QB as there has been, averaging 30.9 fantasy points per game. In Week 2, Hurts threw for 333 yards with a touchdown and an interception while rushing for 57 yards and two more scores. The price on Hurts may not be lower again this season as he enters an elite matchup against the Commanders who allowed 26 fantasy points to Jared Goff in Week 2.

Aaron Jones, RB GB - $7,400

Week 2 was a monster week for Jones as he showed out against the Bears on Sunday night, finishing with 170 total yards and two total touchdowns. In Week 1 against the Vikings Jones was priced at $6,700 so we see a $700 price bump between main slates that Jones has been part of. If you just look plainly at his matchup this week against the Buccaneers, you may find yourself shying away with Tampa Bay holding both Ezekiel Elliott and Mark Ingram to less than 10 fantasy points each. That said, Ingram averaged 5.8 yards per carry and Elliott himself averaged 5.2 yards per carry. The issue for both backs was the lack of volume and the game script where both Dallas and New Orleans were trailing both games. This figures to be a more competitive game this weekend and Jones is an explosive player that could take advantage of this Tampa Bay run defense if they continue to give up 5.0 yards per carry.

Garrett Wilson, WR NYJ - $5,400

The Jets rookie wide receiver exploded in the team’s Week 2 comeback win over the Browns, finishing with eight catches on 14 targets for 102 yards and a touchdown. In Week 3 he sees a $1,000 price bump in the team’s home matchup against the Bengals. Through two weeks Wilson has been targeted 22 times, catching 12 passes for 154 yards. He still trails both Corey Davis and Elijah Moore in offensive snap percentage but that could change in Week 3 if he continues to be this productive. The Bengals defense has not been great to start the year. In Week 2 we saw Cooper Rush and Noah Brown connect for a big day and in Week 1 Diontae Johnson had seven catches for 55 yards catching balls from Mitch Trubisky. The hype on Wilson may have him as a popular play this weekend.

DraftKings NFL Week 3 Salary Fallers

Kyle Pitts, TE ATL - $4,800

Oh boy, Pitts has just four catches for 38 yards over the first two weeks of the season, much to the criticism of head coach Arthur Smith who has opted to use Pitts as a blocker this season more than he was used during his breakout rookie year. Due to the low totals, we’ve seen Pitts price tag drop $600 from Week 2 to Week 3 and he is $900 cheaper than his Week 1 price. In Week 3 Pitts has a really nice matchup against the Seahawks and with Atlanta sitting at 0-2 I am fully expecting to see Pitts more involved in the team’s passing attack this week.

Josh Jacobs, RB LV - $5,400

Jacobs has been good, not great, through the first two weeks, averaging 8.7 fantasy points per game. In Week 2 he saw 19 carries and finished with just 69 yards with one catch for 12 yards against the Cardinals. His price tag has dropped for the second straight week after being $6,300 in Week 1 and then $5,800 in Week 2. That said, I do think there is hope for him in this matchup against a very bad Titans defense. The Raiders should be playing from ahead and the fact that he got 19 in Week 2 should be encouraging for fantasy players. Another 19 carries against the Titans with the possibility for multiple red zone opportunities could lead to a very nice day at this price point.

Brandin Cooks, WR HOU - $5,800

A price drop on Cooks this week has me pretty interested in the Texans lead wide receiver. Through two weeks he has been targeted 22 times. He has caught 11 of those 22 targets for 136 yards. In Week 1 Cooks was $6,300 against the Colts and had 15.2 fantasy points. In Week 2 his price dropped to $6,000 against the Broncos and he had just four catches for 54 yards but saw 10 targets. It’s not a stretch to say that his Week 3 matchup against the Bears is the easiest he has had this season yet his price has dropped yet again. If you can guarantee me double-digit targets for Cooks in this spot again I would be willing to bet he goes for 80+ yards and a score against this Chicago defense.
