Steelers vs. Browns Predictions, Picks & Odds: Thursday Night Football, 11/21
Thursday Night Football featured an AFC North rivalry just two weeks ago with Ravens vs. Bengals, and after an NFC East rivalry with Commanders vs. Eagles last week, it’s back to the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns. Steelers vs. Browns Predictions For Thursday Night Football, NFL Week 12
The Steelers effectively started a brand new season this past Sunday with all six of their divisional games coming in their final eight games. It began with a bang thanks to their upset over the Baltimore Ravens, while the Browns were busy losing to the New Orleans Saints.
So, it’s no surprise that the Steelers vs. Browns odds have Pittsburgh as the clear favorites on the road. After all, this is a matchup of first and last place teams in the AFC North. However, we’ve also seen how commonly matchups in this division come down to the wire thanks to the slow, physical, grind-it-out type of matchups they produce.
We’re predicting more of the same on Thursday Night Football, which you’ll certainly see as we work towards our favorite approach in terms of our Steelers vs. Browns picks.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Taking Control
Throughout the first half of the season, we’ve been noting that the Steelers need to take every opportunity to build up the best record possible heading into the home stretch. Not only are six of their final eight games against AFC North opponents, but the other two are also against the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles!
Obviously, they’ve answered the bell to begin this stretch, and a win here to take them to 9-2 would truly put them in full control of the AFC North. It won’t clinch it by any means, but with the early tiebreaker over the Ravens, starting 2-0 in the division is pivotal en route to a top playoff spot in the AFC.
Cleveland Browns: Playing Spoiler
Well, it doesn’t take much to break down the Cleveland storyline heading into the AFC North rivalry. They’re on the complete opposite end of the spectrum sitting at 2-8, so the only thing that the Browns will be looking to take control of is their own franchise.
They always want to ruin the hopes of divisional opponents, which is what they’ll be trying to do to the Steelers on TNF. They at least match up well against Pittsburgh, as they’d love to ground-and-pound this game out rather than try and get into a shootout. Let’s not forget that they did already upset the Ravens just a few weeks ago.
Steelers vs. Browns Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines
As mentioned, Pittsburgh is a clear road favorite on Thursday Night Football, and you can see the latest Steelers vs. Browns odds at FanDuel Sportsbook below:
- Point Spread: Pittsburgh Steelers -3.5 (-112) vs. Cleveland Browns +3.5 (-108)
- Money Line: Pittsburgh Steelers (-198) vs. Cleveland Browns (+166)
- Game Total (Over/Under): Over 35.5 (-110) vs. Under 35.5 (-110)
Steelers vs. Browns Teaser: Cleveland +10.5 & Under 44.5 Points (-120 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
We noted that our Steelers vs. Browns predictions were focused on exactly what we generally see from AFC North rivalry games, which is close, low-scoring games that often come down to the wire. So, if we can get a double-digit spread AND raise the total, that is exactly what we’re going to do.
As a quick reminder, teasers mean that we need both of these Steelers vs. Browns picks to be correct, and we’re confident that they will be. Pittsburgh was just in nearly an identical spot as Cleveland this past Sunday in terms of being home underdogs by around a field. Not only did they cover, but obviously, they beat Baltimore outright.
Now, we’re getting through key numbers of seven and 10 with this approach, meaning that the Browns can even lose by multiple possessions and we’re still in the clear with our Steelers vs. Browns predictions! Each of the two meetings between these teams last season were decided by four points or fewer, including a 13-10 win for Cleveland.
As you can see, that also supports our approach of taking the under. Truthfully, we wouldn’t fault you for just taking the standard set total as a standalone play, but 41 and 43 are considered key numbers when it comes to totals. They aren’t as impactful as point spread key numbers, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to note.
Regardless, we took the under 48.5 in the Ravens vs. Steelers game on Sunday, which stayed under by flying colors. So, we’ll make that a part of our Steelers vs. Browns predictions for this week and take Cleveland +10.5 and under 44.5 points (-120 at FanDuel Sportsbook).
Steelers vs. Browns Injury Report & Latest News
For much of the season, the latest news regarding the Steelers was their QB drama. That has clearly subsided, and with the big injury news of Cleveland QB Deshaun Watson also well in the rearview, we can focus on the game on the field for Thursday Night Football.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that it won’t hurt to always stay up to date with the latest NFL injury report from our own Fantasy Alarm experts.
