Saints vs. Falcons Predictions for NFL Week 4, Sunday 9/29

Two of the most exciting games of the Week 3 slate included the Saints and Falcons, and both teams were on the wrong end of them. New Orleans entered their matchup with the Eagles as arguably the most dominant team in the NFL but fell in a close 15-12 loss.

As for Atlanta, they were coming off a tight 22-21 win over those same Eagles, and just barely fell to the back-to-back defending-champion Kansas City Chiefs 22-17 on Sunday Night Football. Given that a winning record has barely - if at all - been needed to win the NFC South recently, Saints vs. Falcons predictions for this week could lead to far more later in the season.

New Orleans Saints: Focusing On The Future

When we say that the Saints were considered among the best of the best through the first two weeks, it doesn’t take long to see why. They won their first two matchups by a combined score of 91-19 and were the ones to have the media blasting the Dallas Cowboys thanks to a 44-19 beatdown on the road.

We also say that they need to focus on the future, and what we mean by that is that they need to put the Week 3 loss behind them. They held Philly scoreless into the fourth quarter, which is incredible in itself. If not for a few explosive plays by RB Saquon Barkley, they could be one of the handful of 3-0 teams right now.

Atlanta Falcons: Fighting Through Adversity

The Falcons and their fans need to fight through adversity, because getting a good read on this team has been quite interesting. They looked miserable in their season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers, scoring just 10 points. However, the 3-0 Steelers may be stronger than most thought at that point.

After beating the Eagles on Monday Night Football, they were a ‘missed’ pass interference call away from potentially beating the Chiefs. It’s been a true rollercoaster for the Falcons, and we’re only through three weeks of the season! With three straight division games ahead of them, they need to put the blinders on and focus on what is directly in front of them.

This NFC South rivalry is set to be one of the closest games of Week 4, and the Saints vs. Falcons odds at DraftKings Sportsbook reflect that:

Saints vs. Falcons Predictions: New Orleans Money Line (+110 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

We certainly wouldn’t fault you for adding the New Orleans point spread to your Saints vs. Falcons picks to protect against a one-point loss, but with what is virtually a pick ‘em, we’re willing to take the money line.

In other words, we feel as though the wrong team is favored. If the Saints hadn’t given up just a couple of big plays last weekend and were sitting at 3-0, they would likely be the favorite for this matchup. Better yet, sharp bettors are proving that to be the case.

New Orleans originally opened as 3.5-point underdogs, and that has since been moving down to what we see now. By kickoff, we may be closer to an actual pick ‘em, so we’ll gladly take the plus-money while we can. They can win this game with defense, as Falcons QB Kirk Cousins still doesn’t look like he can move at 100% following his Achilles injury.

On the flip side, the Saints have put QB Derek Carr under center more than any other signal caller in the NFL, and it’s paid off. Their play action run game has been excellent, and we trust that to exploit the Atlanta defense. It may be a grind-it-out type of game, but we still have the best bet from our Saints vs. Falcons predictions on the New Orleans money line (+110 at DraftKings Sportsbook).
