Rams vs. Patriots Predictions For NFL Week 11, Sunday 11/17

It’s difficult to hype Sunday’s Rams vs. Patriots game as a Super Bowl matchup, but someone has to come out on top! Surprisingly enough, it’s the Pats coming in off a win while LA recently fell on Monday Night Football.

Even with that being the case, the Rams vs. Patriots odds have the road team as the clear favorite. We’d agree with that assessment, so taking LA’s money line as part of your Rams vs. Patriots picks in conjunction with another significant favorite this week.

However, that won’t be the target for the top pick of our Rams vs. Patriots predictions. We’re going to isolate a specific portion of the game, but first, more about each team!

Los Angeles Rams: Rebounding From MNF

Few team’s stocks were higher than the Rams’ heading into last weekend thanks to their recent three-game winning streak. It was quite the turnaround from their 1-4 start to the season and even had plenty of fans putting them back into the playoff conversation.

Of course, that streak was snapped in prime time on Monday night with a rather rough loss to the Miami Dolphins at home. It speaks to their inconsistency this year, but with how surprisingly wide open the NFC West is thus far, a victory in Foxboro could have them right back in the mix, especially given that they’ve already upset the San Francisco 49ers this season.

New England Patriots: Playing Spoiler

As mentioned, the Pats are the ones that came out victorious last week, but at just 3-7 and at the bottom of the AFC East, these wins almost certainly won’t help them reach the postseason. Instead, they are busy trying to take other teams down with them.

Their Week 1 win over the Cincinnati Bengals is still among the biggest upsets of the season and holding the Chicago Bears to just three points last Sunday ultimately led to them firing their offensive coordinator and play caller. With the Rams looking to get back to .500 this weekend, upsetting them here could be another playoff dream ruined.

Rams vs. Patriots Predictions: First Half Under 21.5 Points (-110 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

First and foremost, adding the overall game total under to your Rams vs. Patriots picks is also something that we would support, but we love isolating the first two quarters even more. In that regard, we’re expecting a slow start to this matchup.

Frankly, that has been the case for the Pats since their new regime started without QB Tom Brady and QB Bill Belichick, and after seeing them allow just three points on the road last week, we’re confident they can perform against a team traveling across the country to Foxboro. Even when the Rams were at home on MNF, they still scored just 15 points in total.

So, about the first half specifically. Firstly, we’re focusing on the total not only due to some trends, but also because these teams have been awful in terms of backing their side in the first half. New England is tied for the worst first half record against the spread, while the Rams are just a half game better due to having had a bye.

Their inability to cover the spread in the first half is largely thanks to their inability to find the endzone. Through the first two quarters, LA has scored just 7.7 points per game while New England has scored just 7.6 points per game. Those averages are the third and fourth-worst, respectively, in the NFL.

We’re surprised to see the game total as high as 43.5, which has in turn made the first half total higher than anticipated. So, we don’t see more than three touchdowns scored before halftime, making the best bet from our Rams vs. Patriots predictions under 21.5 first half points (-110 at DraftKings Sportsbook).

Rams vs. Patriots Injury Report & Latest News

In terms of big injury news, there is little to note on that front for the Rams vs. Patriots matchup, which is always good news. LA has fought through their time without the WR duo of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, which had been the most significant injuries to monitor. Even still, you can always stay up to date with Fantasy Alarm’s very own NFL injury report.
