Eagles vs. Bengals Predictions for NFL Week 8, Sunday 10/27
The Eagles and Bengals are both coming off victories, and it’s been quite some time since we’ve been able to say that. Despite that, they are both very much in the playoff race, and Philly even has their eyes set on an NFC East crown. That said, both teams are quite inconsistent.
Specifically, they both have plenty of work to do on defense. Despite their namesake, the Eagles struggle to slow down yardage through the air, while Cinci struggles in the run game. Given weapons like RB Saquon Barkley and WR Ja'Marr Chase, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a shootout.
While a high-scoring game is fair for overall Eagles vs. Bengals predictions, we’ve got a different market in mind for the best bet from our Eagles vs. Bengals picks.
Philadelphia Eagles: Fact Or Fiction?
As mentioned, it’s been difficult to trust either team in this matchup. You’ll likely see plenty of fans buying in on Philly given their past two weeks have been their bye and a commanding win on the road.
It’s tough not to get sucked into what we just last saw, but is it for real or fool’s gold? Their recent wins have been against teams that are now a combined 3-11, so it remains to be seen how they fare against top competition. Perhaps the next question is whether or not Cinci falls into that category or not.
Cincinnati Bengals: Finding the Balance
Nearly the same comments apply to the Bengals this season. They’ve been starting slow for a few years in a row now, but with two 5-2 teams in the AFC North, it certainly puts them behind the 8-ball. Interestingly enough, not only are they also coming off back-to-back wins, but against the same teams!
That’s right - the Bengals and Eagles have each faced the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants in their past two matchups, obviously alternating weeks. If Cinci wants to repeat that success, they need to find the balance in terms of how great QB Joe Burrow has looked and how much their running game can improve.
Eagles vs. Bengals Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines

- Point Spread: Philadelphia Eagles +1.5 (-105) vs. Cincinnati Bengals -1.5 (-115)

- Game Total (Over/Under): Over 47.5 (-115) vs. Under 47.5 (-105)
Eagles vs. Bengals Predictions: Cincinnati -1.5 (-115 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
While we have openly admitted that it’s difficult to trust both Philly and Cinci, we’re still focusing our Eagles vs. Bengals predictions on a side. That would be the home team, although if you want to stick with the over for your Eagles vs. Bengals picks, we certainly wouldn’t blame you.
Speaking of which, we expect that to come to fruition given the matchup that Burrow and company have. Philly’s passing defense has been abysmal since last season, and while it isn’t nearly as bad, Burrow has been incredible.
Even with their 1-4 start, the LSU product was the best QB in the entire NFL in terms of passing touchdowns and competition percentage. He’s still among the tops in that regard, and we expect that to be a shock to Philly’s system.
The past two games, the Eagles have faced QBs Daniel Jones and Deshaun Watson. Both of whom have had cries to get benched already this season, so they are far from elite. One QB that is rivaling Burrow in the stats that we just mentioned is Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield.
Well, when Philly faced him, he torched them for 347 yards and two touchdowns en route to a 33-16 win. Feel free to target a Burrow passing yards prop as well, but we’re locking in the best bet from our Eagles vs. Bengals predictions on Cincinnati -1.5 (-115 at FanDuel Sportsbook).
