Kenyan Drake :  Drake won a lot of people fantasy leagues by mowing down Seattle to the tune of 166 yards rushing and two touchdowns (plus tjree grabs for 18 yards).  In his last two weeks alone, he has six touchdowns and over 300 yards rushing.  As you start your rankings for 2020, remember that Drake is more than a two-game wonder.  Indeed, other than his lost half season in Miami this year, Drake has always averaged over 4.5 yards per carry and been a threat to catch the ball.  To those who did not worry about David Johnson taking his role back and invested in Drake, kudos to you.  Nice work!

Mike Gesicki :  It took longer than I thought but Mike Gesicki arrived Sunday to win some fantasy leagues.  The Dolphin tight end reeled in six catches for 82 yards and two touchdowns for a sweet 26+ PPR fantasy points.  I do not know who will be the Fish quarterback in 2020 but I believe the 6’6”, 250 pound Gesicki will be a prime target (along with DeVante Parker of course) and security blanket for said quarterback.  Write that down where you keep your notes for next year. 

Tyler Higbee :  Last week we wrote: “For the third straight week, Tyler Higbee was pure fantasy goodness reeling in 12 catches on 14 targets for 111 yards.  So, even without reaching the end zone, Higbee put up 23+ PPR points.  Over the last three weeks Higbee has 26 grabs for 334 yards.  I know that San Francisco is up next but why would Goff stop targeting Higbee now?  Nope.  Plus, the Niners defense is pretty banged up and has not exactly been world beating of late giving up over 75 points in the last two games.  Higbee might actually be out there on your waiver wire.  If so, grab him even if just to prevent your opponent from using him against you.”  Well, make that four weeks in a row.  Tyler Higbee did his thing Saturday night catching nine passes for 104 yards on 11 targets.  For those in keeper leagues and dynasty leagues, I think you have yourself a tight end! 

Breshad Perriman :  Last week we wrote: “Breshad Perriman had a monster, fantasy season altering day Sunday reeling in five balls for 113 yards and three touchdowns (plus three yards rushing).  That is a monster 35+ fantasy points on the day.  With Mike Evans out, Chris Godwin looking like he will be out and Bruce Arians willing to fling the rock all over the yard, Perriman is a must own for the fantasy Super Bowl next week.  After all, even before the injuries, Perriman was producing to the tune of 157 yards and a touchdown over the previous two weeks.  [Note: credit to my good friend Steve Gardner who first tweeted out the reference to the Chris de Burgh hit Don’t Pay the Ferryman in relation to Perriman].”  Well, even without hitting paydirt, Perriman was solid catching seven balls for 102 yards on 12 targets.  As you take notes and file them away for your fantasy drafts in 2020, remember that the S in SMART stands for system.  If Bruce Arians is the head man in Tampa next year, they will continue to chuck the rock with the wide receivers (even the third up like Breshad) reaping the benefits.     

Saquon Barkley :  Last week we wrote: “Pre-season fantasy superstar Saquon Barkley can be removed from milk cartons.  He has been found thriving on Fish.  Actually, the Fish defense.  In a game fantasy owners have dreamed about since August, Barkley rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns while adding four catches for 31 yards.  With Washington up next and Barkley running hard like the Barkley of old, fantasy owners will be glad they kept the faith.  DFS players will also want to take advantage of any discount caused by the season-long malaise.  Barkley will finish strong.  Enjoy the ride.”  Did he ever finish strong!  Saquon put up 279 yards from scrimmage, two touchdowns and nine receptions – an absolute monster game!  If you are doing an early draft or talking trade in keeper leagues, look for any opportunity to take advantage of an owner who devalues Barkley for the games he was injured and not himself in 2019.       

Final Note:  Forget the Cowboys this week (and boy were they forgettable).  My final note is simply a congratulations to those who not only won their fantasy football title but those who made the finals.  Nice work!  To those for whom the Monday Night game will decide the crown, good luck!
