If you’re ready to start winning, then it’s time to jump into our NFL Best Bets for Week 3. We had a fantastic Sunday last week and we’re ready to keep that momentum rolling.

In fact, we had a fantastic week overall with our NFL picks last week with a great night on Thursday, followed up by a big 6-1 Sunday. Our NFL predictions for last Sunday and Monday nights were right about at even, so the big push from Sunday helped us turn a real nice profit for the week.

Now it’s time to dive into all the games for this Sunday and see where we want to invest our money for the NFL Best Bets for Week 3.

NFL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets For Week 3 Sunday, 9/22

Now that we have two weeks’ worth of data to dive into, our analysis for our NFL Best Bets for Week 3 gets to turn up a notch. Well, sort of.

It’s not about wins and losses around the NFL and it’s not about the historical data between the teams where our focus is this week. This is about what the coaches are doing. Yes, how the players perform is important for your NFL predictions, but the coaching tendencies, expected game plans and the in-game adjustments are where it’s most important.

The big story around the NFL is how scoring is down this season and many people, when making their NFL picks, will get caught up in that. That’s not to say that we’re jumping aboard that train with gusto, but in looking at how many mobile quarterbacks and rookie quarterbacks are struggling, coupled with an influx of some old-school coaching tendencies like Jim Harbaugh, you can understand in certain situations why scoring is lower than expected.

Of course, it’s also about a lack of preseason for so many and teams are working out the kinks here and there. In many ways, we’re going to let the trend be our friend, but let’s dive into the details as we set up our NFL Best Bets for Week 3.

Now let’s get to the action and see who we like for our NFL Best Bets for Week 3.

Steelers vs. Chargers Best Bet: Sunday, September 22nd

Since we mentioned Harbaugh, we may as well start there. In addition to him and his offensive coordinator Greg Roman favoring a heavier ground attack, you also have to look at the current ankle issue for Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.

He’s put in limited practices this week and we expect him to play, but how this injury hinders his movement and ability to scramble out of the pocket is something to consider. Between J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards who are splitting carries fairly evenly, we expect to see a real knock-down, smash-mouth game plan against the Steelers.

On the other side, the Steelers are still dealing with their quarterback issues and while Justin Fields will be under center for the third-straight week, the offense is still struggling. Perhaps it’s because Arthur Smith is a terrible offensive coordinator? Probably. But he’s also limited to the personnel he has on the field.

You can’t trust Fields through the air against this Chargers secondary, so we can also look for a heavy rushing attack with Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren. Another slow, plodding attack by Pittsburgh. The under has hit in both games for both teams and there’s really no reason to think it won’t be the same this week. Get your leather helmet ready for this one.

Browns vs. Giants Best Bet: Sunday, September 22nd

Going up against the Giants is not a daunting task for any team. Of course, many will say the Browns are going to brown and while that may be true, the question of whether New York’s ineptitude is greater than the hard-luck world that is Cleveland is one that needs an answer. First and foremost, I think the Browns have a great offensive line even if Jedrick Wills is hurt.

They can attack with Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman and the Giants are going to have a tough time stopping them. The real question for Cleveland is Deshaun Watson. Is this the get-right game he needs? Can he put on a show against a weak Giants team? Probably, though I’m not expecting vintage Watson here.

On the other side, the G-Men are going to struggle on the offensive front once again. The Browns secondary is really good, and Denzel Ward is likely to be on Malik Nabers most of the time. The key will be the pass-rush and rattling Daniel Jones, something that shouldn’t be difficult to do. I don’t see a lot of points in the Giants future this week.

I’d like to think I was gutsy enough to take the Browns and lay the points, but I just don’t know if Watson is actually up to the task. Instead, I will lean on the fact that the Giants aren’t going to score a bunch and while Cleveland may, I don’t see them doing enough to push this game to the over.

49ers vs. Rams Best Bet: Sunday, September 22nd

If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know how much I hate siding with the public. All those big, beautiful hotels in Las Vegas were built on the public being wrong. But in the case of this 49ers vs. Rams game, I actually think the public has it right. Crazy? Maybe.

There are a lot of injuries both teams are dealing with right now. The Rams are missing both Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua while the 49ers are without Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel and, possibly, George Kittle. The Niners even have Nick Bosa and Charvarius Ward listed as questionable. But the injuries to some of the skill-position players isn’t where the real issues are, and by real issues, I mean for the Rams.

The Rams defensive line without Aaron Donald is a hot mess. Their secondary is pretty gross too. Currently ranked as the 29th-best defense, the Rams are struggling against both the run and the pass. The system Kyle Shanahan has built shows you just how strong the team is as Jordan Mason has back-to-back 100-yard games in lieu of McCaffrey and while yes, the 49ers lost last week, another week of practice for the team’s receiving corps, anchored by Brandon Aiyuk, will show they are fine without Deebo as well.

The Rams are replacing their receivers with guys who can play, for sure, but again, that’s not where the problem lies and why I think the 49ers just walk into SoFi Stadium and throw the Rams a bit of a beatdown. It also helps that Shanahan is 10-5 against McVay in the regular season, so we’ll keep that rolling here.
