Folks love running back Ashton Jeanty for the 2025 NFL Draft. And so do we. He’s as close to a unanimous RB1 as we’ve had in a while. But the Debate at RB2 is not that simple. Two names have emerged at the top of that second tier. Omarion Hampton out of the University of North Carolina. And TreVeyon Henderson from Ohio State.

We’ve already discussed the 2025 NFL Draft Odds & Predictions for Omarion Hampton. Now it’s time to dig in on TreVeyon Henderson. Will he be the second running back drafted? Will he be drafted in the first round? Let’s take a look at the player, the landing spots, and some of the odds with the sportsbooks!

TreVeyon Henderson NFL Draft Landing Spot

TreVeyon Henderson split work with Quinshon Judkins in college. Judkins operated as the bruiser, Henderson on pass downs. But Henderson really can do it all at the next level - at schools like Ohio State, they just have more talent and can operate like that. So his skillset does not limit his landing spot.

Any one of the RB needy teams could be in consideration. The Chicago Bears at 10 are an option as Henderson has been compared to Jahmyr Gibbs and Ben Johnson just came over from the Lions. The Dallas Cowboys at 12 are another one. The Pittsburgh Steelers lost Najee Harris and might need an RB at 21. He could also fall to one of these teams in the second round, of course.

My favorite landing spot for him for fantasy football, however, is the Denver Broncos at 20. Sean Payton and Joe Lombardi LOVE to throw the ball to the running back out of the backfield. As you can see in the tweet below, Lombardi especially has a consistently well-documented history of it. That fits Henderson’s skillset perfectly.

TreVeyon Henderson NFL Combine & Pro Day

We love to see these guys actually compete. And both Omarion Hampton and TreVeyon Henderson decided to test at the NFL Combine. Henderson absolutely crushed it as will by running a 4.43 which is 92nd percentile for a running back, per Player Profiler.

Henderson met with a lot of teams at the NFL combine, as most top backs will. The Ohio State Pro Day saw personnel from every team including head coaches from the Patriots, Steelers, Falcons, Bears, Cowboys, and Saints.

He’s had top 30 visits with teams like the Broncos, Chiefs, and Steeles while the Bengals have the luxury of visiting with any Ohio State players they want due to a rule that allows teams to visit with schools in their proximity.

TreVeyon Henderson Stats at Ohio State

Despite Henderson having to share the backfield with Quinshon Judkins for a good portion of his career, he still managed two seasons of 1,000+ rushing yards. He did that in large part due to his yards per carry of 6.8 and 7.1 yards.  Averaging 80 rushing yards per game is pretty impressive alongside another back that averaged 90 yards per game rushing.

Where Henderson really excels is pass downs. Not only does he have great hands (77 receptions), but he was running real routes that earned him an 11.1 yards per route run. He was impressive in the pass-blocking game as well which coaches love at the next level.

TreVeyon Henderson Draft Odds

TreVeyon Henderson has been trending up over the last couple weeks with the books. Last week the prop “Will TreVeyon Henderson be drafted in the first round?” was available at +130. As of now, on DraftKings, the line is set at -120. I still like the play, but they are catching on.

Another way to bet on Henderson and get some more juice would be the take the bet of over 2.5 running backs drafted in the first round on DraftKings at +180. You are opening yourself up to more risk as Ashton Jeanty, Omarion Hampton, and TreVeyon Henderson would all need to be drafted in the first round.

But you also have the additional possibilities out of other backs like Kaleb Johnson or Quinshon Judkins making the leap into round one. I personally like both bets, based on my most recent mock draft.
