2025 NFL Mock Draft: Omarion Hampton NFL Draft Odds & Predictions

The running back class for the 2025 NFL Draft is a hot topic. Many are saying it’s the best running back class since the legendary 2017 draft. Can the likes of Ashton Jeanty, Omarion Hampton, TreVeyon Henderson etc. live up to the legacy of guys like Christian McCaffrey, Joe Mixon, and Alvin Kamara? That’s a tall task but we will see!
Ashton Jeanty is widely regarded as the top prospect and is expected to go first. But Omarion Hampton from the University of North Carolina is in the mix to be the RB2 off the board - or possibly even the top RB! Let’s take a look at some possible landing spots, his credentials, and the NFL draft odds and predictions with the sports books.
Omarion Hampton NFL Draft Landing Spot
The recent trend in NFL Drafts is to have a lot of smaller guys. Players under 200 pounds who project to play more on pass downs. Not this one. And Omarion Hampton is a prime example. At 6’0” 220 pounds, he has the ability to be a bruiser right away at the NFL level. And he has soft hands to go with it.
If Ashton Jeanty goes to New England or Jacksonville, the Las Vegas Raiders at 6 are the earliest spot Hampton could go. In my latest mock draft updated this week, I have him going to the Chicago Bears at pick 10 to play the David Montgomery role for coach Ben Johnson, who just came over from the Lions.
Other popular spots that would be great for fantasy football would be the Dallas Cowboys at 12 or the Denver Broncos at 20. We know Hampton has the size but Joe Lombardi loves throwing to his backs. If he falls beyond pick 20, there are a lot of teams who already have feature backs so he could end up in a committee, waiting for a bigger role.
Omarion Hampton NFL Combine & Pro Day
Unlike many top prospects, Omarion Hampton opted to actually test at the combine (which we’ll admit we love to see as fans). And he took care of business, running a 4.46 forty yard dash.
That puts his 40 yard dash in the top 15% of running backs but, once you adjust for size like Player Profiler does, that puts him in the 93rd percentile in terms of speed score.
Between his combine, the UNC Pro Day, and his top 30 meetings, Hampton has met with a lot of teams already. Notably, he has met with the Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, and with the Chicago Bears multiple times. That doesn’t always mean one of those teams will draft him but it’s a good sign.
Omarion Hampton Stats at North Carolina
Omarion Hampton was an absolute force in college. He broke out early and dominated in his final two seasons of college before declaring for the NFL early. In those last two seasons, he improved from 1,726 yards from scrimmage and 16 TDs in 13 games to 2,033 yards from scrimmage and 17 TDs in 12 games.
On top of that, he also had a solid target share in the pass game, racking up 67 catches over those final two seasons. In most classes, Hampton would be the obvious RB1 overall but, as we mentioned in the intro, this isn’t “most classes”.
Omarion Hampton Draft Odds
Most books have Ashton Jeanty as the clear favorite to be the RB1 drafted. You can take a stab on Hampton to go first at +1800 on DraftKings if you’d like.
But, as of now, there are more rumors that Hampton could be the third RB drafted after Jeanty and TreVeyon Henderson than of him being first. So we are probably staying away from that one.
One we do like is the DraftKings line of Hampton going over/under pick 19.5 in the first round. He’s listed at -300 for the over as many project him to go to teams like the Broncos or Steelers picking at 20 and 21.
But I think there is a real chance he ends up with the Bears at 10 or the Cowboys at 12. At +220 for him to go under pick 19.5, I’m feeling good about sprinkling some money on that one.
