Welcome to the DFS Dart Board for NFL Week 2!

Who's building some GPP tournament lineups, baby??? This guy!!! Probably you as well or you wouldn't be reading this right now, right? If you're looking to get players like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Stefon Diggs and Bijan Robinson into your tournament lineups, you're going to need to save some salary somewhere, right? Well, where is the pay-down this week? Who are the NFL Week 2 DFS bargains? And are there enough? So many questions.

Before we get started, allow me to introduce what you are about to look at…

If you're new to Fantasy Alarm, the DFS Dart Board is an add-on to the Playbook that I started a few years ago. It came about when I was building GPP lineups and realized I needed more salary relief. As I dug through my notes to see who stood out the most among those players at a more affordable price, it hit me. When I put players in the Playbook, I am thinking primarily about cash lineup plays -- guys with a high floor who I could conceivably put into my core-group and build a lineup around. After those players, I would mix in a handful of guys who had boatloads of upside and were in soft match-ups, but I wasn’t paying as much attention to their salary as I should have. And that's where the Dart Board came into play.

Every now and then, when building lineups while using particular stacks, you need some salary relief. You need a guy who may not be minimally priced, but low enough to give you the flexibility you need to get someone like Justin Jefferson or Christian McCaffrey in as a flex play or something. Occasionally you may see a min-priced QB or TE in here, but more often than not, this space is reserved for running backs and wide receivers who are below $6,000 on FanDuel or $5,000 or lower on DraftKings.

Now while we call this a Dart Board, keep in mind that every player has been carefully researched. We're not up here picking players all willy-nilly, desperately hoping they hit. We're looking for the cheapest bargains possible who still have the strongest potential to give you at least a 3-5x return on what you pay.

All set? Great. Let's get to it and while you do, maybe give a listen to this week's NFL DFS Show with me & Jon Impemba.

QBBaker MayfieldCHI @ TB Sun 1:0051006800

Listen – when your QB Coach is adamant about his hatred for Baker Mayfield over the years and then suddenly puts him in as a viable play this week in his article, you gotta pay attention. The Bears defense did not look good at all against Green Bay and none of the moves they made in the offseason moved the needle at all. The secondary is troubling, the linebackers are meh and I'm just not sure how much pressure the defensive line can muster, even against a banged-up Tampa o-line. Baker doesn't need to do much to pay off his cheap salary, so if you're feeling a little froggy this week, might as well jump.

RBJerick McKinnonKC @ JAC Sun 1:0046005100

Isaiah Pacheco saw a handful of targets last week and now there's a report that the Chiefs elevate La'Mical Perine from the practice squad. I'm not sure if there's an injury or if Father Time has finally caught McKinnon, but check it out before you try saving a few shekels with a McKinnon play. If everything is on the up-and-up, then I will give him some consideration as we expect this game to become a bit of a shootout and when that happens, Mahomes tends to lean on his pass-catching RB to do some damage. Maybe if you're building a contrarian Chiefs stack and wanna save salary you can give him the ol' eye.

WRTutu AtwellSF @ LA Sun 4:0547005500

Puka Nacua might be more fun to say than Tutu Atwell, but if everyone is saying it, I'm gonna jump on the Atwell bandwagon. He saw plenty of targets last week and turned out just as many receiving yards as Nacua did. If you're building a GPP lineup and want to pay down some but not too badly, then Atwell makes for a nice contrarian play for me. The 49ers defense is a tough match-up, but if they're paying more mind to Nacua, Tyler Higbee and Van Jefferson, Atwell could be the guy you never knew you needed.

WRHunter RenfrowLV @ BUF Sun 1:0039005100

With Jakobi Meyers out, Renfrow should step in as a heavily targeted option this week. Davante Adams is obviously the guy, but the Bills happen to rank 27th in DVOA against the opposing WR2 and could have some fits with Renfrow likely working primarily out of the slot. I expect the Bills to come out swinging and build an early lead which should put the Raiders on their heels and into a heavier passing scheme. That should put Renfrow in as a decent volume play which works really well on DK. Pretty good on FD, but not as sexy a play.

WRRashee RiceKC @ JAC Sun 1:0038005300

He turned out to be a pretty reliable option for Mahomes in Week 1 and the Chiefs QB doesn't forget things like that. Yes, Travis Kelce is back and yes, we expect more out of at least Kadarius Toney, but with this game sitting on the highest expected total and with how much it is lining up to be a shootout, there's nothing wrong with grabbing a cheap option you know Mahomes likes.

WRJayden ReedGB @ ATL Sun 1:0034005100

We'll go back to the Reed well this week even though he failed to deliver last week. Now, keep in mind that Christian Watson has not yet been ruled out, so you will need to pay attention to the news, but if/when he is, you can probably look to Reed as someone who should see at least the same five targets he saw last week. If the Falcons defense focuses more on stopping Doubs, Musgrave and AJ Dillon, Reed could be an intriguing dart-throw this time around.

WRJosh ReynoldsKC @ JAC Sun 1:0037005900

* Impemba Special * The first Impemba Special play makes the Dart Board in Week 2 of the NFL season. Listen, I've included Reynolds in the DFS Value Plays video so this isn't a complete shock that I've leveraged him into the Dart Board here as well. He saw the second most offensive snaps among WRs for the Lions last week. He was also second on the team in targets and receptions behind Amon-Ra St. Brown while actually being the teams leading receiver with 80 yards. He has the chemistry with Jared Goff that we love to see and this matchup against the Seahawks feels like it's flying under-the-radar this week. Again, this is the same Seahawks defense that allowed Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell to each go over 100-yards last week.
