NBA DFS Value Vault October 23: Walker Kessler is a Top Value Play for Utah Jazz
We have a small five-game slate for this beautiful Sunday Afternoon. But do not get me wrong, we have some solid games for fantasy purposes with three out of the five games having a current implied total of over 225 points. There is plenty of value plays on this slate including Walker Kessler and Kevin Huerter. Be sure to check out our NBA DFS projections, powered by FanJections, NBA DFS Lineup Generator, and all of the rest of our NBA DFS content and tools!
DraftKings DFS Value Plays
Kevin Huerter, Sacramento Kings ($5,000)
Kevin Huerter has started out great this season for the Sacramento Kings. He is shooting a whopping 61% from the field and shooing 11-17 from behind the arc. Those numbers aren't sustainable, but he is chipping in, in other parts of the game averaging three rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. This game has the highest over-under along with the Jazz Pelicans game. So Hueter has a chance to repeat a 30+ FP night once again.
Herbert Jones, New Orleans Pelicans($4,400)
Herb Jones is an intriguing play on this slate as the defensive specialist has started out slow only averaging 17.3 FP through the first two games. He is starting and he is getting the minutes you like to see at averaging 29 minutes, he just isn't getting the volume you like to see on the offensive side of things only taking 10 shots on the season. He has also yet to record a steal this season, as you know that will change because he is just a defensive stud. He averaged 1.7 steals per game last season. There should be plenty of opportunity for him to score FP points today. I'm throwing him in my lineups at that price.
Cedi Osman, Cleveland Cavaliers ($4,300)
So far Cedi Osman has been a solid play off of the Cavs bench. Darius Garland has missed a game and a half which has allowed Donovan Mitchell to move on the ball, and Osman to get more run on the wing playing 26.4 minutes per game off the bench. Osman is averaging 16.5 points per game, and shooting lights out, 62% from the field and 55% from the three-point line on just some great looks. Those looks should continue against Washington today, so if I'm paying down at the forward position I have no problem plugging Osman into my lineups today.
FanDuel DFS Value Plays
Walker Kessler, Utah Jazz ($3,900)
If you are punting on the center position on this slate I would recommend playing rookie Walker Kessler. He is not getting a ton of minutes as he is the backup center just averaging over 20 minutes per game, but he is making the most of it. Kessler actually averages the 13th most FP per minute in the entire NBA. Not only is he averaging 9-7 but he is also adding in two blocks per game. With this game being fast-paced there are plenty of opportunities for him to score FP in this one.
Malik Beasley, Utah Jazz ($4,100)
Really another Jazz player? But the Jazz have to be the most surprising team in the NBA through two games as they are 2-0 and leading the western conference when they are actively trying to tank. This offense has been absolutely humming as they have the fourth-highest offensive efficiency in the NBA and Malik Beasley has something to do with that. He is averaging 15 points per game and has scored over 20 FP in both games. This game has the highest over-under on the slate so Beasley should have plenty of opportunity to continue his success.
