We have an eight game NBA DFS main slate tonight on DraftKings and FanDuel and while there are plenty of high-priced plays on this slate such as Nikola Jokic, Ja Morant, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum and Kevin Durant we also need to find those value plays to put in our DFS lineups.

Let's get into my favorite NBA DFS value plays for tonight's main slate!

NBA DFS Value Plays for October 24th

Jaylen Nowell, PG/SG Minnesota Timberwolves

It seems like Nowell is filling the role held by Malik Beasley last season as the first guard off the bench. With Beasley being sent to Utah as part of the trade that brought Rudy Gobert to Minnesota, Nowell has topped 20 minutes in each of the last two games while providing no less than 20 fantasy points a night on DraftKings. What we love about Nowell is the shooting. Despite averaging only 20.3 minutes per game, he is also averaging 13.7 shot attempts per contest. Love the aggressive shooting when it gets on the floor.

Usman Garuba, C Houston Rockets

The Rockets are already without Bruno Ferndando and now Alperen Sengun is questionable to play tonight as well. Garuba started at center for the Rockets the other night and put up 26 fantasy points in 25 minutes of play. We expect Garuba to again start tonight against the Jazz, but if Sengun is out, he may see even more playing time. Tari Eason is also in consideration tonight if Sengun is ruled out. He could be a nice pivot off of Garuba if that ends up being the case and you are looking for a more contrarian play.

Max Strus, G/F Miami Heat

Depending on whether you play on FanDuel or DraftKings, the positions are a bit different as Strus is a power forward only on DraftKings while owning shooting guard/small forward eligibility on FanDuel. Either way, the Heat are a bit short-handed, and Strus has played over 30 minutes in two of the three games this season for Miami. With Caleb Martin suspended for tonight, Stuss could very well crack the Heat's starting lineup.

Jarred Vanderbilt, PF/C Utah Jazz

A fantasy point-per-minute monster, Vanderbilt's lone flaw is his propensity for fouls as he has committed at least five fouls in all three games this season and he fouled out on opening night in just 18 minutes. Over the last two games, Vanderbilt has played at least 25 minutes and has given us 30+ fantasy points. His ability to get blocks and steals makes him a nice play on FanDuel.

Royce O'Neale, SF/PF Brooklyn Nets

Never the most exciting player but O'Neale is seemingly filling the role that Bruce Brown filled for the Nets last season and that ended up being a pretty solid fantasy play most nights because of the price tag. Through two games this season O'Neale has played no less than 34 minutes while filling up the stat sheet, averaging 8.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.0 blocks per game. Those numbers, because of the blocks and steals, have more impact over on FanDuel where you get the extra point for defensive categories but if you need a safe floor play tonight in your lineups, I think O'Neale fits the bill.
