We have three games across the NBA on Monday, April 29th. 

We have two potential close out games as the Oklahoma City Thunder look to sweep the New Orleans Pelicans and the Denver Nuggets head back home to host the Los Angeles Lakers up 3-1. The Boston Celtics are in Miami looking to take a commanding 3-1 lead too.

NBA Underdog Fantasy Picks Today, 4/29

There are a lot of great spots on the slate, but the three I’m targeting are CJ McCollum of the New Orleans Pelicans, Nikola Jovic of the Miami Heat, and Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics. Let’s dive into our top Underdog Fantasy NBA picks of the day!

CJ McCollum: New Orleans Pelicans

Things could not be going worse for the Pelicans down 3-0 in this series, but they’re home, and McCollum will need to generate offense for the Pels to have any chance. He’s had a 24% USG or higher in three straight games, including a 35.1% mark in Game 3. 

During the regular season, McCollum had a 28.6% USG without Zion Williamson. With Luguentz Dort putting Brandon Ingram in the “Dorture Chamber” this entire series, look for McCollum to have another 20+ shot output here.

 

 

 

Nikola Jovic: Miami Heat

With the Heat short-handed, they’ve extended Nikola Jovic during this recent stretch, and he’s played very well. He’s been especially good on the glass grabbing six or rebounds in four straight games and in each of those outings, he’s played at least 25 minutes. 

During this series, Jovic has averaged 12 potential rebounds per game, which is second on the team, and during Game 3, tied Bam Adebayo for the team lead at 14 potential boards.

Jaylen Brown: Boston Celtics

I’m very confident in this pick considering how well Jaylen Brown has played this series, it’s just all about how many plays you want to deploy. Through the first three games of this series, nobody has a higher usage rate on the Celtics than Jaylen Brown at 29.8%. 

That’s resulted in 22 and 33 points in the last two games and last game, he didn’t make a single three or free throw, so the upside is through the roof for him if those fall. With Bam Adebayo guarding Jayson Tatum and making his life difficult, look for Brown to lead the Celtics in scoring again here.
