It is the battle of Los Angeles tonight as the Clippers take on the Lakers to close out the night for the NBA DFS Showdown Slate. Despite being listed on the injury report, it appears the stars will be out for the Lakers with LeBron James and Anthony Davis taking the court while the Clippers continue to be without Kawhi Leonard. Let us dig into some players to target for tonight’s NBA DFS Showdown Slate between the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers.

NBA DFS Showdown Slate Picks

MVP/Captain

Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers

It is a good matchup for Davis tonight against the Clippers and he was the picture of efficiency on Monday scoring 29 points in 29 minutes of action. Davis has hit double-digit rebounds in three of his last five games and he is averaging 10.3 per game to go along with 23.2 points so far this season as he continues to be a large part of the Lakers’ offense. That should continue tonight but he also picks up the upside of a favorable opponent.

Paul George, Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers to continue to lean heavily on George, so having the day off certainly worked in his favor. George has played in six games over the last 10 days and is averaging 36 minutes per night and scoring 28.2 points per game. While the volume is there, George is also not trading efficiency as he is shooting 50.4% from the field in that stretch. George will likely have to match James tonight on the offensive side to keep the Clippers in the game and that should not be a problem as he has been scoring at a high level.

LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers

With two consecutive days off, after resting on Monday and playing 34 minutes in each of his two previous games, James should be well rested heading into tonight’s game. James finished with 27 points on Sunday but it was very interesting, and unlike him to not attempt a free throw. Following the days off, I would expect to see James have a little more pep in his step as he looks to build on his 24.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 7.1 assists on the season.

Utility

Russell Westbrook, Los Angeles Lakers

Coming off the bench has worked wonders for Westbrook as this is the best we have seen him since joining the Lakers. In his last five games, Westbrook is averaging 19.6 points per game (with a high of 26) as he continues to be an offensive threat when he enters the game. While no longer a triple-double threat on a nightly basis, Westbrook is averaging six assists and 5.8 rebounds per game which pairs well with his price and offensive production.

Marcus Morris, Los Angeles Clippers

Morris has stepped up in a big way for the Clippers as of late playing 35-plus minutes per night and he has scored at least 11 points in seven straight games. While there is minimal upside with Morris, he is averaging a solid 15.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game and while the forward does not come cheaply tonight, it is a fair price.

John Wall, Los Angeles Clippers

We get an $800 discount on DK to go from Reggie Jackson to Wall and while both have been inefficient from a shooting perspective, the latter has been busier from a volume perspective. Seeing Wall go on a hot streak offensively would not be a surprise as the talent is there and he is certainly getting the opportunity as well.

Ivica Zubac, Los Angeles Clippers

We have a top-heavy slate tonight and it very likely could be cost prohibitive to fit Zubac into your lineup. He is playing around 35 minutes per night these days for the Clippers and also has a favorable matchup, but his offense has been inconsistent at times. At 10.2 points and 11.1 rebounds per game, the average is solid but there is a lot of variability in play and perhaps too much for my liking based on the price.

Dart Throw

Nicolas Batum, Los Angeles Clippers

The veteran is playing around 15 to 20 minutes per game, so that is a certainly a plus, but at four points and 3.5 rebounds per game, Batum is lacking when it comes to upside. At the same time, he is cheap and we have a floor of around 15 DFS points so that should not be overlooked.

Austin Reaves, Los Angeles Lakers

While Reaves does start and play around 30 minutes per game, the guard is not featured on offensive so that does limit his overall production. At the same time, Reaves can get hot quickly and scoring in double-figures would not be surprising.
