NBA DFS Showdown CPT/MVP Top Plays
Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors
Stephen Curry is the highest-priced player on this slate after putting up back-to-back 50 fantasy point performances. I am not surprised he is the most expensive, it's the fact he is $1,200 more expensive than the next guy who happens to be Paul George. Curry is never a bad play with the usage he gets for the Warriors which ranks ninth in the league. We could also see that increase tonight with Chris Paul out of the lineup. You can play Curry tonight, you are just going to have to pay to do so at the captain spot.
Paul George, Los Angeles Clippers
Paul George has been a bit quiet as of late which could cause him to be lower-rostered tonight. He is in a bit of a shooting slump being 11-31 in his last two games, failing to score 35 fantasy points in either outing, If he does that again, and you play him at the captain spot, it could totally tank your night. I get that, but if everyone is off him tonight, you can gain leverage on the field if he has a big night.
Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers
After struggling a bit to find his place in this offense with James Harden being inserted in the lineup. However, over the last two games he has been great. He has played 37 and 39 minutes and finished with over 50 fantasy points in each. Leonard looks to be more involved seeing a usage rate of higher than 25% in three of his past four games. With him having back-to-back big games he could be highly rostered tonight because he is also the cheaper of three stars. Leonard is the best paydown option at the captain spot tonight.
NBA DFS Showdown UTIL Top Plays
James Harden, Los Angeles Clippers
We finally saw James Harden go off in a Clippers uniform in their last game. He finished with 26 points, and six assists, but had a season-high five steals to finish with just over 50 fantasy points. We got a ceiling game from Harden on the back of the steals, and I am not sure he is going to quite do that again. But what he could keep doing is shooting well from behind the arc. Over his last six games, he is shooting over 40% from downtown on 37 attempts. Harden should continue to see good looks tonight with Leonard and Kawhi getting the tougher matchups.
Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors
Draymond came back from his suspension in the Warriors last game, and he was fine. He finished with eight points six rebounds and three assists finishing with 23 fantasy points in 33 minutes. With Chris Paul being ruled out tonight Draymond should take over more of a facilitator role in his absence. I would expect him to get over five assists tonight giving him a very solid floor. He should find a way into your lineup tonight.
Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors
After Klay Thompson looked pretty cooked for most of the season, he is starting to come around a bit on the offensive end. Over his last four games, he is shooting 44% from behind the arc on 37 attempts and averaging just slightly under 20 points per game. Thompson is also getting up a ton of volume getting up at least 14 shots in three of his past four games. Play Klay tonight at his $6,600 price and hope he has a ceiling game.
Ivica Zubac, Los Angeles Clippers
After Daniel Thies made his presence known for a few games, Zubac is back to being a monster. He has scored over 30 fantasy points in three straight games. His minutes can fluctuate at times but he should play around 30 minutes in this matchup. He has the size advantage on the Warriors, and he has seen 12 and 15 shots in his last two games. The Clippers may want to take advantage of his size in the paint tonight and feed the big man. Even if they don't, he has a high floor because of his rebounding.
NBA DFS Showdown Top Value Plays
Dario Saric, Golden State Warriors
With Draymond back into the fold, Dario Saric took a backseat playing just 17 minutes. He still put up 18 fantasy points in limited minutes so he didn't completely tank your night if you played him. He should be lower-rostered with Green back. However, I kind of like that because if he gets hot from the field, I can't see him getting a quick hook again. He is only $5,400 tonight so you are no longer paying a premium for Saric.
Terance Mann, Los Angeles Clippers
Terance Mann is still starting in this Clippers lineup playing over 30 minutes in his past three games. He is nicely priced, sitting at just $4,800 on DraftKings. Mann has just been a tad inconsistent in his last five games scoring three games over 23 fantasy points and two games under 16 fantasy points. We loved seeing the volume of shots he got last game getting up 12, we just wish that would be a consistent thing. At his price, however, I can't see how you don't play him tonight.
Moses Moody, Golden State Warriors
Surprisingly last game Brandon Podzeimski received a DNP. It will be interesting to see where the Chris Paul and Andrew Wiggins minutes will go. Well, they could go to Moses Moody who the Warriors might want out there to help guard the Clippers outstanding Wings. We have seen him produce this season when given an extended run. He is priced at just $4,200 and has around a 25-point ceiling. He could be worth the risk at that low of a price. If we get word that Podziemski should get more run tonight, I would probably pivot to him over Moody.

Player News
Buddy Hield had 15 points (5-of-14 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and four three-pointers against the Timberwolves in Game 2 on Thursday.
Hield moved into the Warriors’ starting lineup in the first round and the team became somewhat reliant on his scoring. With Stephen Curry (hamstring) out in Game 2, Hield started and played 29 minutes. The 32-year-old shooting guard led the Warriors in field goal attempts, though no one in a Golden State uniform was able to reach 20 points. The Warriors weren’t able to overcome a double-digit first half deficit. Despite the four made three-pointers, they’re going to need more from Hield as the series shifts to Golden State, especially if Curry remains out.
Jimmy Butler had 17 points (6-of-13 FGs), seven rebounds, four assists, one steal and two three-pointers against the Timberwolves in Game 2 on Thursday.
Butler couldn’t get it done without Stephen Curry (hamstring) on the road in Game 2. The Warriors fell behind by double-digits early and never recovered. Butler had 17 points on 13 shots, which wasn’t far off from the 20 points he had in Game 1. Still, the Warriors have to regroup as they head home for Games 3 and 4 as they try to figure out a way to keep this series close until Curry can return to the court.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker had 20 points (7-of-13 FGs), two rebounds, three assists, one block and four three-pointers in Game 2 against the Warriors on Thursday.
Alexander-Walker was a key scorer off the bench in Game 2. He, Naz Reid and Donte DiVencenzo combined for 10 made three-pointers off the bench. In a game where the Warriors were desperate for scoring without Stephen Curry (hamstring), those bench points were too much to overcome as the Timberwolves won by 24 points.
Julius Randle had 24 points (10-of-17 FGs), seven rebounds, 11 assists and one three-pointer in Game 2 against the Warriors on Thursday.
Randle led the Timberwolves in scoring in the Game 2 victory. The 30-year-old power forward was just three rebounds away from a triple-double. He was a steadying presence in his 33 minutes as Anthony Edwards dealt with an ankle injury towards the end of the first half. Edwards recovered from his injury to play 34 minutes, but Randle is still the next most important player in this series for the Timberwolves.
Anthony Edwards had 20 points (6-of-13 FGs), nine rebounds, five assists, three steals, one block and two three-pointers in the Timberwolves’ 117-93 victory over the Warriors in Game 2 on Thursday.
Edwards appeared to suffer a sprained left ankle towards the end of the second quarter as the Warriors’ Trayce Jackson-Davis landed on his foot. Edwards turned the same ankle in the first round against the Lakers and appeared to re-aggravate the injury. The 23-year-old shooting guard would go on to start the second half and play a team-high 34 minutes in the Game 2 victory. Edwards will only have one full day off before the series resumes in Golden State for Game 3 on Saturday.
Warriors will start Brandin Podziemski, Buddy Hield, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and Quinten Post in Game 2 against the Timberwolves on Thursday.
No surprise here as Curry was always a long shot to make it back for Game 2 after leaving Game 1 with hamstring injury. While there has been a report that the 37-year-old point guard is expected to miss a week, there is no firm timetable for his return. The Warriors will go big with their starting lineup for Game 2 with center Quinten Post entering the lineup in Curry’s absence.
