NBA DFS Showdown CPT/MVP Top Plays

Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers

Anthony Davis is the highest-priced player on the slate which makes sense as he is the best DFS play on the slate. Davis is coming off a monster performance against Miami putting up a 29-point, 17-rebounds, six-assist, and five-block night posting 74.25 fantasy points. Davis is playing on another level defensively right now, having at least four blocks in three of his last four games. I am playing Davis on the slate tonight because of the amount of value on the slate that we will get into later on. You can pay up for him and still put together a solid lineup.

Ja Morant, Memphis Grizzlies

Ja is the second-best option in my eyes on this slate for the captain spot. He is coming off back-to-back games in which he scored over 50 fantasy points. That was his fifth game of eight since returning. The Lakers have been struggling a bit as of late and they are undermanned. I expect this game to close, and Ja to be a big reason for that with him having a 30.7% usage rate since returning. I am doing everything I can to put Davis and Morant both in my lineup tonight.

LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron James is the last guy you can make a case for putting in the captain spot. Well, because he is LeBron James. LeBron has been good but not great as of late even though he is playing a ton of minutes. It has also leaked this week that he is frustrated with head coach Darvin Ham. That can go one of two ways, either the Lakers could get blown out and LeBron struggles, or they play hard and figure it out. I am fine playing LeBron as the captain as leverage against the field, I just feel Morant and Anthony Davis are more reliable tonight.

NBA DFS Showdown UTIL Top Plays

Jaren Jackson, Memphis Grizzlies

Outside of Morant, it is Jaren Jackson who I went next from the Memphis Grizzlies, not Desmond Bane. Bane is $800 more expensive than JJJ, and hasn't quite had the ceiling he once had once Ja came back. Jackson has been fine as of late scoring over 34 fantasy points in four of his past six games. Like AD, Jackson has been a menace defensively as of late blocking four shots in back-to-back games. Play Jackson tonight, and hope he is a big part in a Grizzlies upset.

Austin Reaves, Los Angeles Lakers

Austin Reaves will likely be back in the starting lineup once again tonight with D'Angelo Russell doubtful. Reaves is coming off of two huge games scoring over 20 game points and over 40 fantasy points in each game. During that span, he has also dished out 17 assists, as he seems to be initiating more offense as of late. Ride the wave with Reaves tonight, and get him in your lineup at under 8K on DraftKings.

Taurean Prince, Los Angeles Lakers

A lot of Taurean Princes' fantasy output hinges on whether he is going to knock down shots or not. In his last five games, Prince has scored over 30 fantasy points in two of those games. In those games, Prince knocked down at least four three-pointers in those games. In the other three games, he failed to score over 20 fantasy points and made only four combined threes in those games. PLay Prince at your own risk tonight.

NBA DFS Showdown Value Top Plays

Christian Wood, Los Angeles Lakers

There is a solid amount of value on tonight's slate making it realistic to play Morant and Davis together, starting with Christian Wood. Wood has been in and out of the rotation as of late, but has played 24 and 25 minutes in the Lakers last two games. I like this matchup for him with Memphis also liking to trot out multiple bigs. Wood will be needed tonight and he played 22 minutes the last time these two teams met up.

Santi Aldama, Memphis Grizzlies

On the other side, Santi Aldama is one of those bigs that Memphis likes to give rotation minutes to. Over his last two games, he played 22 and 28 minutes. During that span, he has a combined 19 rebounds. If he plays 20 minutes he will likely hit 20 fantasy points, and you will take that with someone priced at just $4,600 on DraftKings. He is a very solid value play on this slate, especially if JJ happens to get into foul trouble.

Luke Kennard, Memphis Grizzlies

Like Taurean Prince, Luke Kennard's fantasy production depends on if his shot starts to fall or not. The good thing is, that Kennard is an absolute sniper hitting 42% from downtown over his past three games on 19 attempts. The Lakers have a solid defense, but all it takes is a couple from Kennard to get going. He is just $4,200 on DraftKings and has a 25-point ceiling. Just know he has a floor of five fantasy points.

Max Christie, Los Angeles Lakers

Christie has played 28 and 29 minutes over his past two games. A lot of that had to do with CamReddish dealing with an injury, but Max Christie was not shy in those two games. He saw 12 and 11 shot attempts and finished with 19 and 20 fantasy points. He is just $4K on DraftKings and his risk is baked into his price because he could just be out of the rotation altogether.
