NBA DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups, Injuries & More Today: Tuesday Playbook

Published: Mar 25, 2025
Happy Tuesday, March 25th everyone! We have an 8-game NBA DFS main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel.
We're going to have some solid value, with Jalen Brunson, Ja Morant, Donovan Mitchell, and Miles McBride out – just to name a few guys that will be spectators tonight.
Make sure to tune into the 5 p.m. show and come hang out in our Discord closer to lineup lock.
Mid-day downgrades and more!
Some injury hypotheticals and situations will be covered in the playbook. Here are some other big news pieces to monitor:
The Thunder - They've become really interesting since I already wrote up SGA after JW and Chet were listed as questionable earlier. Well, recently, Wallace and Wiggins received the mid-day downgrade, which never bodes well for anyone. I think there will be enough pieces inactive here (or at least I'm hoping) that could give SGA a really nice situation at a much lower ownership due to great cheap options (and Garland) at point guard – combined with the late tip-off time. I'm not totally sure what else OKC will do with the starting lineup, but we might even be talking about contrarian pieces such as Isaiah Joe and Alex Caruso. I would love to have some late-window flexibility here. If your lineup is behind or performing poorly early on, CLE/POR also tips off late. If you need to fade a chalky Ty Jerome (gulp….) you could pivot to Joe or Caruso at a fraction of the ownership, if this hypothetical news doesn't break until late. It doesn't feel great begging for these OKC guys to outscore someone like Jerome, but we've seen crazier stuff happen.
If PJ Washington/Brandon Williams are out - If Williams is out, I think we can certainly entertain going back to Spencer Dinwiddie, who has been awesome lately. If PJ Washington missees, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I would be fairly interested in Kai Jones.
If Cade Cunningham/THJ are out - Sasser could get extended, but Thompson was in big foul trouble in the last game, so I still think there are better cheap guards than Sasser could be come. It makes Ausar Thompson and Malik Beasley interesting if one or both of these guys sit.
If Stephon Castle is out - A $4700 CP3 will look really good. Bumps to the Champagnies and Johnsons of the world for large-field GPPs.
Before actually diving into the meat and potatoes, welcome to the NBA DFS season. If this is your first time reading our column on NBA DFS picks, I just want to welcome you and give you a few tips and tricks on what you should be looking for each night.
- News outlets: reliable sources that give us injury news & starting lineups
- Pace of play: who's playing fast vs. who's playing slow. Which teams get a pace-up spot (more possessions) vs. pace-down (fewer possessions)
- Usage rates: is a percentage of how many plays that player is being used in

PG | Shai Gilgeous-Alexander | OKC @ SAC Tue 10:00 | 11200 | 56.4 | 11400 | 56.7 |
I try to not to write all of the hypothetical injury situations up, and who they benefit, or I would be here until next season. But I have to throw SGA out there, who I don't think anyone will be on if no Jalen Williams or Chet Holmgren (while Chet matters less) news drops before lock. By toggling just Jalen off the floor, SGA gets a 3.7% usage bump and a whopping 6.8 more DKP per 36 on average. He would become an awesome GPP play if Williams misses. Game Type: GPP
PG | Darius Garland | CLE @ POR Tue 10:00 | 8000 | 39.8 | 7700 | 38.2 |
There is no shortage of value today, and a lot of great value is at point guard. But without Donovan Mitchell, Garland is a go-to cash-game option due to a very likely high floor. Early pOWN% projections have his ownership 2x higher on FD than DK. While I don't think he'll come in sub-20% on DK, I'll happily take the discount. Garland has seen a 3.8% usage bump and averages 4.4 more DKP per 36 minutes without Mitchell on the floor this season. What's not to like? Game Type: CASH & GPP
PG | Fred VanVleet | ATL @ HOU Tue 8:00 | 6200 | 34.4 | 7000 | 34.1 |
I like the DK tag a little more. You're getting a very inconsistent player here, but he's capable of breaking any slate. ATL presents a great game environment, and Houston has the third-highest implied team total on the board. Game Type: CASH & GPP
PG | Scotty Pippen | MEM @ UTA Tue 9:00 | 31 | 5900 | 31
Pippen is arguably the second-best per-dollar play on the slate. Ja Morant is out, and we've seen Pippen (usually) hold down big minutes in his absence. Pippen has given us 25+ minutes in six of his last seven games while scoring less than 29 DKP just once during that stretch. He's not a high-usage guy (but he'll flash in the mid-20s), but he'll stuff a stat sheet. He averages 1.16 DKP per minute without Ja on the floor this season. Great matchup vs. Utah is the icing. on the cake, and the price of $5K flats makes you want to grab a second piece. Despite missing Ja, MEM has the highest TT on the board. Game Type: CASH & GPP
PG | Chris Paul | SAS @ DET Tue 7:00 | 4700 | 22.2 | 5500 | 22 |
At $4700, CP3 has enough standalone value for me to write up. It's a tough matchup, but if Stephon Castle misses, Paul will shoot up the priority list. Game Type: CASH & GPP
PG | Ty Jerome | CLE @ POR Tue 10:00 | 4400 | 28.9 | 5400 | 28.4 |
You know the drill. When Spida is out, Jerome is typically good chalk. I do like the DK price more, but he still plays on FanDuel – he just might not end up a core at $1K more. Jerome leads the team in per-36 FPPG without Mitchell on the floor this season – although I don't expect more than 30 minutes. He also sees a 3% usage bump without Mitchell. A great play, especially on DK, in a fine matchup with POR. Game Type: CASH & GPP
PG | Anthony Black | ORL @ CHA Tue 7:00 | 3800 | 27.4 | 4500 | 27.6 |
Black is an interesting large-field GPP play at $3,800. There are just plenty of safer plays at the ceiling with arguably higher ceilings. However, I'd keep Black in the pool if you are playing a ton of lineups, as ORL is likely without Suggs. Game Type: GPP
SG | Desmond Bane | MEM @ UTA Tue 9:00 | 8900 | 42.4 | 8400 | 41.2 |
Only a few guys are really sticking out to me at SG right now. Bane is one of them. He' seeing big minutes and will shoulder a bigger load without Ja, as seen by his 61-point bomb with a 32% usage rate two games ago vs. Sacramento. Highest TT on the board tonight. Game Type: CASH & GPP
SG | Devin Vassell | SAS @ DET Tue 7:00 | 7000 | 37.5 | 7500 | 36.9 |
Tough matchup, but you can sell me on this one if Castle misses. Vassell has been playing huge minutes lately, and he has averaged a big 4.6% usage bump without Wemby, Fox, and Castle on the floor this season. Game Type: GPP
SG | Mikal Bridges | DAL @ NYK Tue 7:30 | 6500 | 34.2 | 6700 | 33.6 |
Minutes are never an issue with Bridges, and we've seen him pop at times this season without KAT or Brunson. Dallas will be without AD, and their defense doesn't really do anything for me. Game Type: GPP
SG | Vince Williams | MEM @ UTA Tue 9:00 | 3500 | 20.3 | 4100 | 19.9 |
As of 3 p.m. ET, if you're not using Payne or Bane at SG, Vince Williams might be your next look. He's a low-usage guy, but he should have a slightly expanded role as long as Ja is out. Brandon Clarke being done for the year is also one less body in the rotation. Game Type: CASH & GPP
SG | Cameron Payne | DAL @ NYK Tue 7:30 | 4600 | 29.2 | 4100 | 28.7 |
Payne is the play tonight, and hopefully, he causes us no pain without Brunson and McBride. He should be in line for a massive role. He averages 1.01 DKP per minute without Brunson and McBride on the floor this season. Probably the best play on the board right now. Game Type: CASH & GPP
SF | Paolo Banchero | ORL @ CHA Tue 7:00 | 9800 | 46.1 | 9600 | 44.6 |
SF is ugly, but at least you get Paolo on FanDuel tonight. Pretty low TT, but you know who the two alphas are on this team. They'll post high usage rates and floors. We've seen Paolo have a legit 70-point ceiling earlier this month. Game Type: CASH & GPP
SF | Franz Wagner | ORL @ CHA Tue 7:00 | 8800 | 42.6 | 8300 | 42.1 |
Coming off a huge game, worth nothing he's logged usage rates over 30% in four of his last five games. Game Type: GPP
SF | Deni Avdija | CLE @ POR Tue 10:00 | 7700 | 43.2 | 8400 | 42 |
If you're a FA follower, you know we love some Deni. Game Type: GPP
SF | Andrew Wiggins | GSW @ MIA Tue 7:30 | 6300 | 40.6 | 7100 | 40.1 |
Wiggins has been great lately. We saw a career night against Charlotte two days ago. While we can't expect that every night, his usage rates are consistently in the mid-to-high 20s, and he's been hovering around 5-6x value or more on most nights. Game Type: GPP
SF | Klay Thompson | DAL @ NYK Tue 7:30 | 6400 | 33.5 | 5500 | 31.9 |
Klay becomes interesting without AD, and the additions of Brandon Williams and PJ Washington on the injury report as Q. Personally, I probably need one of PJ or Williams to be out. Game Type: GPP
PF | Jaren Jackson | MEM @ UTA Tue 9:00 | 7800 | 37.4 | 8600 | 38 |
Yep, I'm interested. Highest TT on the board, and Jackson has average a usage increase better than 4% without Ja on the floor this season. Game Type: CASH & GPP
PF | Evan Mobley | CLE @ POR Tue 10:00 | 8500 | 48.7 | 9000 | 47.7 |
Mobley could be a sneaky beneficiary of Mitchell's void. Everyone rightfully flocks to the guards, but there is no reason why he couldn't be a Mobley night instead. You can likely get him around 20% or less if I had to guess. Game Type: CASH & GPP
PF | Jalen Williams | OKC @ SAC Tue 10:00 | 8400 | 39.1 | 8200 | 39.3 |
If he plays and Chet sits, I'd like to grab a few large-field GPP shares. Game Type: GPP
PF | Santi Aldama | MEM @ UTA Tue 9:00 | 6400 | 36.4 | 5800 | 35.9 |
Without Ja and Clarke in the fold, Aldama should have solidified minutes, and MEM has the highest TT on the board. Game Type: CASH & GPP
PF | Keldon Johnson | SAS @ DET Tue 7:00 | 4600 | 23.9 | 5300 | 23.3 |
Johnson has been flashing a few good ceiling games, but I think I need Castle out to feel good about him. Keep him on the radar. Game Type: GPP
C | Karl-Anthony Towns | DAL @ NYK Tue 7:30 | 10000 | 52.8 | 9800 | 50.1 |
Ohhh, KAT has just averaged an 8% usage bump without Brunson and McBride on the floor…..monster number there. Sign me up. Game Type: CASH & GPP
C | Alperen Şengün | ATL @ HOU Tue 8:00 | 9000 | 50.4 | 9100 | 48.9 |
Houston is in such a nice spot vs. Atlanta, but we've barely mentioned any of their players. HOU likes to spread out the usage, but the game environment should be awesome, and Sengun could be on trip-dub watch. He's seeing major minutes in competitive games as the season winds down, and he's tallied 56+ DKP twice in the last five games. Game Type: GPP
C | Bam Adebayo | GSW @ MIA Tue 7:30 | 8200 | 43.7 | 8300 | 42.1 |
If you've been playing DFS for a while, you know what you're getting out of Bam by now. High floor with an occasional smash game. Game Type: CASH & GPP
C | Kel'el Ware | GSW @ MIA Tue 7:30 | 5500 | 35.1 | 6200 | 34.4 |
Ware's minutes have been really inconsistent, and Spol is kind of difficult to trust, but he's seen 28, 35, and 32 minutes across his last three games. He pretty much crushed at $5,500 in each of those games. Game Type: CASH & GPP |
