NBA DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups, Injuries & More Today: Saturday Playbook

Published: Apr 05, 2025
Happy Saturday, April 5th! We have a 4-game NBA DFS main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Three teams are on the second leg of a back-to-back, as the Pistons travel back home from Toronto and the Mavericks and Clippers square off for the second consecutive night. That game is three and a half hours after lock, so we may be waiting on some injury news there.
Let's discuss some of the top plays and best pivots for the final Saturday of the regular season.
Before actually diving into the meat and potatoes, welcome to the NBA DFS season. If this is your first time reading our column on NBA DFS picks, I just want to welcome you and give you a few tips and tricks on what you should be looking for each night.
- News outlets: reliable sources that give us injury news & starting lineups
- Pace of play: who's playing fast vs. who's playing slow. Which teams get a pace-up spot (more possessions) vs. pace-down (fewer possessions)
- Usage rates: is a percentage of how many plays that player is being used in

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
PG | James Harden | DAL @ LAC Sat 10:30 | 9800 | 49.9 | 9500 | 47.8 |
The Clippers injury report is an important piece of news we may be waiting on with that game starting 3.5 hours after contests lock. Harden is a fine play if the Clippers are full strength, but he would be even more interesting if someone like Kawhi Leonard rested on the second leg of this back-to-back. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
PG | Tyler Herro | MIL @ MIA Sat 8:00 | 9000 | 0 | 8800 | 0 |
Herro continues to roll, as he is coming off 35-9-4 against Memphis last time out and has now scored at least 45 fantasy points in five straight. Andrew Wiggins remains out, which means Herro has an elite ceiling. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
PG | Ja Morant | MEM @ DET Sat 7:00 | 8900 | 0 | 8600 | 0 |
Memphis has the highest implied team total on the slate and Ja Morant is their top scoring option. He has a 36% usage rate in four games since returning from injury. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
PG | Davion Mitchell | MIL @ MIA Sat 8:00 | 4800 | 27.4 | 5100 | 26.5 |
Mitchell continues to play big minutes off the Heat bench. There is no reason to expect a role change even if Tyler Herro and Haywood Highsmith (both questionable) are able to play. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
PG | Scotty Pippen | MEM @ DET Sat 7:00 | 35.4 | 6000 | 35.5 | |
Pippen played nearly 27 minutes last game with Vince Williams out, as Memphis rolled with a tight, eight-man rotation. There is some volatility in the playing time, but Pippen should see at least low-20s with Williams out again. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
SG | Anthony Edwards | MIN @ PHI Sat 7:00 | 9500 | 46.1 | 9300 | 43.8 |
The 16-point spread and lack of ceiling from Edwards lately are both concerning, so Ant is a GPP-only option tonight. The matchup against the Sixers is elite, and Ant has a huge ceiling if Philly can keep this game close. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
SG | Spencer Dinwiddie | DAL @ LAC Sat 10:30 | 6400 | 31.9 | 6700 | 31.3 |
Dinwiddie was on pace for big minutes again before playing only three minutes in the 4th quarter thanks to the blowout. If Dallas can keep the game closer in the rematch, Dinwiddie has upside for 35+ minutes. He has remained productive even with Dallas getting healthier. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
SG | Norman Powell | DAL @ LAC Sat 10:30 | 6600 | 33.9 | 6400 | 32.6 |
The scoring efficiency Powell enjoyed earlier this season has fallen off sharply over the past month, so he is a GPP-only option if Kawhi Leonard is active. If Kawhi sits, Powell would look good in any format. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
SG | Donte DiVincenzo | MIN @ PHI Sat 7:00 | 5000 | 22 | 5300 | 21.2 |
On a four game slate, there are bound to be some uncomfortable clicks if you're playing several lineups. DiVincenzo is exactly that, as he has not been playing more than low-20s minutes recently. On the positive side, he does get an elite matchup against the Sixers. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
SG | Bogdan Bogdanović | DAL @ LAC Sat 10:30 | 3900 | 21.2 | 4600 | 20.4 |
Bogey was highly productive in 21 minutes in the blowout last night. There is potential for him to become one of the top value options on the slate pending Clippers injury news. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
SF | Ausar Thompson | MEM @ DET Sat 7:00 | 6300 | 34.3 | 6600 | 36.2 |
Cade Cunningham (probable) is expected to return tonight and Tobias Harris (questionable) has a chance also. Those two players returning add risk for Thompson, but he has been playing great basketball and is a good bet to maintain a significant role. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
SF | Kyle Kuzma | MIL @ MIA Sat 8:00 | 6200 | 32 | 6400 | 30.6 |
Kuzma has yet to have a ceiling performance with Damian Lillard out of the lineup, but I am still chasing the theoretical upside. The matchup is not ideal, but Kuzma is worth a dice roll on a short slate. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
SF | Nickeil Alexander-Walker | MIN @ PHI Sat 7:00 | 3600 | 18.1 | 4600 | 17.3 |
NAW doesn't have the highest ceiling, but he is a viable value option on this short slate. He has played at least 27 minutes in each of the last two games and should have a floor of low-20s minutes. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
SF | Jaylen Wells | MEM @ DET Sat 7:00 | 3100 | 21.2 | 4100 | 20.3 |
Wells has held a consistent role for the Grizz and he should continue to play mid-20s minutes. He is another value option at a weak SF position. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
PF | Giannis Antetokounmpo | MIL @ MIA Sat 8:00 | 12400 | 61.7 | 12500 | 59.9 |
Giannis is coming off an absolute smash performance with a line of 35-17-20 as he attempts to will the Bucks up the Eastern Conference standings. He gets a tougher matchup tonight, but I am not sure anything can slow down a motivated Giannis. He easily has the highest ceiling on the slate. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
PF | Bam Adebayo | MIL @ MIA Sat 8:00 | 8700 | 46.6 | 8700 | 44.9 |
A matchup against Giannis is certainly not ideal, but options are limited on a four-game slate. Bam has been in good form, with 20+ points in three straight games. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
PF | Jaren Jackson | MEM @ DET Sat 7:00 | 7500 | 45 | 8000 | 45.7 |
JJJ is an upside tournament option with a low floor due to his issues with foul trouble. The price tag is low enough that I'm willing to take on some risk chasing his considerable ceiling. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
PF | Julius Randle | MIN @ PHI Sat 7:00 | 7400 | 35.1 | 7500 | 33.5 |
Randle gets an elite matchup against the Sixers, but there is significant blowout concern with the 16-point spread. He has been in good form and has 45+ fantasy point upside if the Sixers can keep the game close. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
PF | Santi Aldama | MEM @ DET Sat 7:00 | 5400 | 34.2 | 5700 | 33.8 |
Aldama has been relegated to a bench role with the return of Ja Morant, but he has still played at least 29 minutes in three straight games. His rebounding ability gives him a nice floor, and his scoring ability gives him upside. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
C | Ivica Zubac | DAL @ LAC Sat 10:30 | 8100 | 43.2 | 8200 | 42.2 |
Zubac got the 4th quarter off and played just 27 minutes thanks to the blowout last night. He was on his way to a smash night with 14 points and 13 rebounds in those 27 minutes. He has considerable upside if Dallas can keep it more competitive in the rematch. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
C | Jalen Duren | MEM @ DET Sat 7:00 | 7300 | 0 | 7000 | 0 |
Duren played a season-high 36 minutes last night in an outstanding 21-18-6 performance. Cade Cunningham is expected to return for this game and the heavy workload also adds risk. I'm leaving Duren for large-field tournaments tonight given that context. Game Type: GPP | ||||||
C | Rudy Gobert | MIN @ PHI Sat 7:00 | 6700 | 35.8 | 7100 | 35.4 |
Gobert has been playing excellent basketball of late and has recorded five straight double-doubles. He has averaged 18.4 points and 16.8 rebounds in those five games, and now gets an elite matchup against the Sixers. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
C | Adem Bona | MIN @ PHI Sat 7:00 | 5200 | 33.8 | 6000 | 34 |
Bona has played well in a starting role over the past four games. He is averaging over 36 fantasy points per game in those four starts, and he remains underpriced for his current role. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
C | Zach Edey | MEM @ DET Sat 7:00 | 4700 | 32.9 | 5400 | 32.1 |
Edey has played at least 26 minutes in three of his last four games and appears to have a better role with the coaching change. He is underpriced thanks to his elite rebounding as long as the role remains steady. Game Type: CASH & GPP |
James Harden, PG | 9800 , 49.9 | 49.9 | 9500 , 47.8 | 47.8 | ||

Memphis has the highest implied team total on the slate and Ja Morant is their top scoring option. He has a 36% usage rate in four games since returning from injury. Game Type: GPP Weather: Cloudy | ||||||
Davion Mitchell, PG | 4800 , 27.4 | 27.4 | 5100 , 26.5 | 26.5 | ||
Mitchell continues to play big minutes off the Heat bench. There is no reason to expect a role change even if Tyler Herro and Haywood Highsmith (both questionable) are able to play. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||||
