The long anticipated return of the NBA is finally here and I am beyond excited to talk about the 7 game NBA slate with you all. Allow me to introduce myself first before we get started! My name is Cody and I am the new kid on the block for Fantasy Alarm. 

Looking back on last nights slate, the injury riddled Toronto Raptors overcame the injuries and had a surprising win against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Chicago Bulls won in double digits against the Milwaukee Bucks. 

On that note, we have some games to dig into for today. Will there be any surprise wins? The mystery remains!

 

 

 

Tonight features a 7 game slate on DraftKings and 9 game slate on Fanduel featuring the scorching hot Boston Celtics facing off the young Detroit Pistons led by Cade Cunningham. One might say this the revenge tour for the Boston Celtics. The drama circulating around Jaylen Brown being left off the USA Olympic basketball team. On the flip side, Jayson Tatum was on the Olympic team but the lack of play was a mystery. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are looking for blood, and the team showed it a three point make away from breaking the record total in a game on opening night. 

There was a pool party despite the Washington Wizards losing their first game against the Boston Celtics. Jordan Poole erupted in the first quarter knocking down 17 points. Will their be another first quarter pool party against the Cleveland Cavaliers? 

The night cap features Victor Wembanyama will look to bounce back from a subpar game and earn a win with the San Antonio Spurs at home against the Houston Rockets. The over/under in this game is coming in low at 224.5 points. 

Keep in mind on Fanduel the Dallas Mavericks against the Phoenix Suns with a over/under coming in at 231.5 points. Last but not least, the Sacramento Kings against the Los Angeles Lakers with a over/under coming in at 230.5 points

With this 7 game slate of the NBA season there is always things we are looking for as we get closer to roster lock from an injury stand-point.

Right now, some of the latest updates include:

  • Kelly Olynyk is questionable with back soreness
  • Carl Carington is probable with an ankle injury

With the NBA season just kicking off we do not have a data yet for teams regarding pace of play and defensive matchups. The spot will typically include a chart and as we get more games under our belt we will really be able to utilize and identify the top matchups. 

The Oklahoma City Thunder vs Chicago Bulls matchup has one of the highest over/under;s of the slate coming in at 231.5 points. The second highest over/under is the Cleveland Cavilers vs Washington Wizards at 229.5 points.
