Welcome back to the Fantasy Alarm NBA DFS Value Vault! We have lots of news we are waiting on for a medium 7-Game slate (on DraftKings they are still posting the MIA/PHI game currently, but FanDuel has cut this game off their main slate). However, there is already some value on the slate that has been identified and we will discuss those here.
DRAFTKINGS
Luguentz Dort SG/SF (OKC) $4,100 –
Dort’s price has fallen tremendously over the last 6-7 games played, and for that reason I am seeing a small buy-low window here for him in a good spot tonight. The talk has been all about Diallo lately, and for good reason as Diallo has played some really good basketball but his price has also been directly reflected by his recent performance as he is now $5.3K on DraftKings. Let’s not forget that Dort is the starting SF here for OKC, and has still played 25, 29, and 31 minutes over his last three games, including 24+ mins in all but one game so far on the season. Dort hasn’t been taking many shots lately, and on nights he does – he hasn’t shot the ball well, but that could change tonight as the Thunder welcome in the Spurs who are playing their fourth and final game of a West-coast road stand. This could play into the Thunder’s advantage here as the Spurs return home after this game and have a day off, as well before hosting the Rockets. It is important to note that the Spurs are also allowing the 6th MOST DraftKings fantasy points to opposing SFs, and I am going to look for a better game from Dort here.
Trey Lyles PF/C (SAS) $3,300 –
Lyles got the starting nod in the Spur’s clash with the T-Wolves two nights ago in Minne and played a whopping 35 minutes as a result putting up five points, 10 boards, and two dimes. He only shot the ball four times, making half of those, so hopefully we would expect a few more shots in playing 35 mins, but we know if he gets another start here tonight along with another 35 minutes or so, the opportunities will be there to do so. OKC are allowing the 9th MOST DraftKings fantasy points to opposing PFs, while also allowing the 7th MOST DraftKings fantasy points to the Center spot. The Spurs are already without DDR and Derrick White , and it seems the Jacob Poeltl experiment could be over starting alongside LaMarcus Aldridge . Either way, at near min-pricing here for Lyles, if he starts again – He is easily in play again.
Precious Achiuwa PF/C (MIA) $3,100 –
Another near min price punt play here that could easily pay off handsomely in the event things fall into place, as it seems they have a likely chance to do. The Heat are already without Bam Adebayo , Jimmy Butler , Avery Bradley , Meyers Leonard , and Kelly Olynyk is labeled as “questionable” to play. In the event that Kelly O is also ruled out along with these others, AND the Heat are able to field at least 8 players for this game, Precious will easily be in-line for a much heavy minute and work-load against the Sixers. Precious has been receiving around 12-16 minutes on average per game and has topped 16 fantasy points in three of his last four games played, including five of his overall eight games played on the young season. No doubt in my mind that if Achiuwa is granted 20+ minutes here tonight, he will absolutely smash his value at this price.
*HONORABLE MENTION*
Yogi Ferrell PG/SG (CLE) $3,000 –
Yogi was signed to a 10-day contract before the Cav’s took the playing floor in yesterday’s game and after Collin Sexton was announced to be a late scratch – Yogi saw 17 minutes on the floor, putting up nine points, two boards, one assists, two steals, and a block in route to 18 DraftKings fantasy points. He also took nine shots on the night, only making four, and just 1-of-4 from the perimeter. This play on Yogi has two conditions – Either Sexton or Garland or both happen to sit. Remember, CLE is already down Dellavedova, Exum, and Windler in the backcourt, so this could easily make for another min-price play here if circumstances do fall in Yogi’s favor. Something to keep an eye on.
FANDUEL
Dennis Schroder PG (LAL) $5,500 –
Taking a shot on Schroder here tonight on FanDuel because of a few things. One, his price is much more favorable as he is $6.1K on DraftKings. Two, there is a chance a few guys sit here for the Lakers tonight in Houston. LBJ, Davis, KCP, are all listed as “questionable” to play tonight. Schroder has played well lately, including this same match up against the Rockets in his most recent game as he scored eight points, grabbed five boards, dished seven dimes, swatted two shots and swiped up two steals in route to a modest 36.5 FanDuel fantasy points in the process. This makes for back-to-back 30+ FanDuel fantasy point outings over his last two games after he had a string of duds prior to, and I think he is on the come-up here still in a great match up with the Rockets, who also allowing the MOST FanDuel fantasy points to opposing PGs (LBJ obviously in play if he is in) at the current time on the season to boot.
Kelly Oubre SF (GSW) $5,300 –
Not just terribly in love with the price on Oubre, however I do still feel there is a smidge of room for upside in it tonight as the Warriors look to host the Pacers, who are on a back-to-back and could be sitting Victor Oladipo as a result. Oubre has been somewhat of a mixed bag this season, but we have seen the upside with his four games of 30+ FanDuel fantasy points in his last four of seven games played, including a 25.7 FanDuel fantasy point outing two days ago against the Raptors where he secured 12 points, six boards, three dimes, and a block. He has taken at least 10 or more shot attempts in all but one game this season and is averaging around 12.0 a game. He has also been a nice source of rebounds, blocks and steals, and for that reason is why I placed him here in the FanDuel list for this article. It is also worth pointing out that the Pacers, who are also without usual starting SF in T.J. Warren , are allowing the 6th MOST FanDuel fantasy points to opposing SFs currently on the season.
Lonnie Walker IV SG (SAS) $5,200 –
Lonnie is right back in play here as the Spurs head into OKC to take on the Thunder. If you listened to the Podcast today for the slate, you heard Mr. Grande mention the fact that with DeMar DeRozan off the floor, in a 60.9-minute sample for Walker, he is seeing a massive +10.0% usage bump to on overall usage of 30.1% and a FP/M of 1.07, as well. Walker erupted two nights ago for 25 actual, three boards, four assists, a block and a steal against the T-Wolves for a result of 38.6 FanDuel fantasy points in 30 minutes. Walker even had to go to the locker room for a few minutes later in the game due to cramps. Either way, Walker is going to continue to see heavy minutes with DeRozan still out tending to his ill father, and it is also worth mentioning that the Thunder are allowing the 5th MOST FanDuel fantasy points to opposing SGs on the season currently.
*HONORABLE MENTION*
Doug McDermott PF (IND) $3,700 –
If Oladipo is indeed set to sit on this second-leg of the back-to-back set for the Pacers, Dougy McBuckets could easily come into more playing time and usage. McDermott had one of his best shooting nights in recent memory against the Kings in Sacramento last night as he recorded 21 actual with four boards, one assist, and a steal in route to 30.3 FanDuel fantasy points in 29 minutes. Doug gets a great match up here in the late-night hammer game against the Warriors and could easily see another 28-30 minutes if Dipo does happen to sit here.
