Grande's Picks:
DraftKings
Tyrese Haliburton, PG/SG SAC ($5,200)
After a few down games, the rookie guard burst back into the picture putting up 36.75 DKP across 31 minutes against the Knicks last time out. He’s been excellent across the board and he showed us that stuffing the box score, including his defensive numbers such as four blocks and two steals. In this match-up against Orlando, Haliburton should thrive as ORL ranks 20th this season against the shooting-guard position. Haliburton averages .95 FP/min this season and we’ve seen his ability to give us 40 FP upside at the same time. This is a match-up where the potential for 40 FP can be fully tapped into.
Cameron Johnson , SF/PF PHX ($4,800)
We know both Devin Booker and Dario Saric are already out, which means the Suns likely deploy their big starting 5 once again with Johnson, Jae Crowder and Mikal Bridges . That bodes well for Johnson because he’s been splitting time with Crowder. Well, we saw Johnson play 34 minutes last time out and put up 27.8 DK points, far exceeding 5x value. Johnson’s a good shooter and although he’s shooting just 35% this year, if he gets hot the three-point bonus DK provides us comes in handy.
Darius Garland , PG CLE ($4,600)
I mean, before Garland’s injury we were getting consistent 30+ FP production on a nightly basis and he even flashed 50 point upside to boot. His minutes limit has slowly begun to increase as he played 26 minutes against the Lakers on Monday, so is it crazy to think he’ll get 30 here? Garland has a 22.6% USG rate and averages .9 FP/min this season. Oh by the way, Garland had his 50 burger against these same Pistons he faces on Wednesday. GPP’s only, of course.
FanDuel
Jordan Clarkson , SG UTA ($5,300)
With Donovan Mitchell ruled out, there’s no shot we don’t push all our chips in on Jordan Clarkson . With Mitchell off of the floor this year, Clarkson’s notched a 29.2% USG and averages 1.25 FP/min, which is first and second respectively on Utah. We shouldn’t expect him to slide into the starting rotation, however, as Utah has liked Clarkson off of the bench and have long used Joe Ingles as a starter in the past. Ingles played 27 minutes on Tuesday and is likely the starter here. It’s hard to ignore Clarkson at this price and even Ingles at his as well.
Daniel Theis , PF BOS ($4,600)
I know some of these recent performances were without Jayson Tatum , but how about the one WITH Tatum against the Bulls in which he went for 44.1 FDP? He’s now topped 37 FDP in three-of-four games and has been really good across the board. Now he gets a Spurs team ranking 25th in rebounding while at the same time, presenting a pace up spot for Boston. The blocks and steals have been fairly sustainable too, which we know we love over on FanDuel.
T.J. McConnell , PG IND ($4,400)
We’re getting the best version of McConnell right now as he enters Wednesday’s contest on a roll. He’s not scoring a whole lot, but he’s doing literally everything else including 6+ assists in all six games since returning from his three-game absence. His minutes are even on the rise as he’s played 28+ in two-of-three games. What’s also shown to be sustainable is the steals notching two or more steals in eight straight. We love that on FD because of the bonus points we get there. Hard not to consider him as your PG2 on this slate of games.
Sean's Picks:
DRAFTKINGS:
1.) Bobby Portis PF/C (MIL) $4,800 –
Portis is getting great run and this game screams that it could get out of hand later on with the Raptors pretty banged up from top to bottom. Portis is fresh off a 27-minute outing against the Hawks where he connected for 21 actual points, six boards, and one assist in route to 30.4 DraftKings fantasy points. If that has been one thing I have continually preached in chat and on Live-stream, podcast, whatever it is PFs and SFs against TOR, and Bobby P is in a great spot here tonight in a game with a total of 229.
2.) Raul Neto PG/SG (WAS) $4,300 –
With Ish Smith still dealing health and safety protocols like many of the other Wizards, this should allow Neto to gain another start here for the sitting Russell Westbrook . Neto has played 20, 25, and 22 minutes in his last three-straight contests and put up 17.3, 21.5, and 24.3 DraftKings fantasy points as a result. This is a free square on tonight’s slate and could easily be used in cash for a solid value.
3.) Joe Ingles SG/SF (UTA) $4,200 –
With Donnie Mitchell sitting tonight due to concussion protocol I think we see Joe Ingles get the start at SG in his place here tonight for the Jazz’s match up against the Mavericks in Salt Lake City. Ingles has topped 20 DraftKings fantasy points in six of his last nine contests, and we know the kind of upside he can bring when given starter minutes. Ingles is easily in play here tonight in both formats – especially if he starts as expected.
HONORABLE MENTION: Jeremy Lamb SG/SF (IND) $5,100 –
Lamb is one of my favorite values tonight on the slate for both sites as he is roughly the same price on both DraftKings and Fanduel. Lamb has topped 34 fantasy points in two of his four games since returning to action and just saw 33 minutes in his most recent game. This game could have a really nice game-flow and I think Lamb has 30-point upside once again here tonight against the Hornets.
FANDUEL:
1.) De’Andre Hunter SF (ATL) $5,600 –
This price is just down-right SILLY on Hunter over on FanDuel tonight. Hunter played 36 minutes last night against the Clippers and notched out 22 actual points, three boards, four dimes, a block and a steal in route to 36.6 FanDuel fantasy points. He has now topped 35 FanDuel fantasy points in three of his last four games played ad has seen 36, 36, and 41 minutes in those games, as well. You simply can’t afford to pass up this price on FanDuel against a Nets team that has struggled on defense all year long.
2.) Naz Reid C (MIN) $5,000 –
I know I mentioned on the podcast that you shouldn’t literally have to go lower than the $7K-ish range on Center tonight, but I think Naz is a decent exception if you are looking to pay up at other spots. Reid has put up 28 or more fantasy points in four-straight games lately and has played 29, 25, 27, and 24 minutes as Karl Anthony-Towns continues to deal with Covid-19. Naz gets a plus match-up here tonight with the Warriors, who they just faced two nights ago where he put up an 11-point, 10 rebound double-double with an assist and two blocked shots. GS has struggled against the Center spot all year long, so why not continue to exploit it?
3.) Daniel Theis PF (BOS) $4,600 –
I don’t care if Tatum is back, Theis has been an absolute BEAST lately and this price on FanDuel is extremely mis-priced in my opinion. Theis has topped 37 FanDuel fantasy points in three of his last four games played while seeing just 24-28 minutes on the floor. He has recorded five blocks and steals over his last two games, with a handful of assists. His points and rebounds continue to stay steady and should be as the trend here once against the Spurs, who are 4th worst in rebounding in the league. Simply put – Theis is way too cheap on FanDuel for this match up.
HONORABLE MENTION: T.J. McConnell PG (IND) $4,400 –
McConnell exploded last time out against the Raptors for nine points, five boards, NINE dimes, two BLOCKS, and two steals in route to a hefty 37.5 FanDuel fantasy points in 28 minutes on the floor. He has now seen 31, 23, and 28 minutes in his last three games while putting up 26.6, 25.9, and 37.5 FanDuel fantasy points to boot. He is a salary-saver with decent upside tonight in this match up against the Hornets.
