Isaiah Stewart, C DET ($3,700)
Sometimes, the value play just jumps off the page and smacks you in the face. I’m not sure that is always a good thing though based on heavy ownership and the fact that sometimes things are just too good to be true. With Mason Plumlee sitting for rest tonight, Stewart is slated to get the start for Detroit while providing a low-cost center option. Stewart did play 27 minutes against the Knicks on Saturday and all we got out of him was four points and seven rebounds, so you are forgiven if there is hesitation. He did have an eight-game stretch across two weeks in March in which he averaged 10.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per game so we are likely looking at 6x to 7x value tonight.
Jordan McLaughlin , PG MIN ($4,600)
Opportunity is key here as McLaughlin finds himself back in the starting lineup again, but he doesn’t bring much in the way of scoring potential. The 12 points he scored on Saturday in 42 minutes of play is the high end of what we can expect from him, but it’s the nine assists, six rebounds, and three steals that really delivered the value. McLaughlin did take nine shots which is about double from his norm but a repeat of his last game and its 39.7 FD points would suit fantasy owners just fine.
Theo Maledon, PG OKC ($5,500)
When we last saw Detroit, they were being blown out by the Knicks on Saturday so let’s target them again tonight as Maledon and the Thunder take on the Pistons. It’s also beneficial to find lower cost starting point guards with upside, and Maledon fits the bill. We do have to note that his scoring has been up and down these days as Maledon followed up a 33-point performance against Phoenix by scoring just seven points against Portland. The scoring upside is there and he is also a capable rebounder and playmaker, so Maledon gives you a solid shot at 30 FD points with a chance at 40.
DraftKings
Taurean Prince , SF CLE ($3,800)
Cleveland let Prince loose on Saturday for the first time after his return and he scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds in 32 minutes of play. After taking nine shots in his first two games back, Prince took 13 against the Heat as it no longer appears that he has any limitations. Prince should get ample playing time once again tonight off the bench and for the price we aren’t look for too much out of him.
Tony Bradley , C OKC ($3,500)
With the focus on Isaiah Roby and Moses Brown, we shouldn’t ignore Bradley off the bench either. The backup big man is pretty close to free tonight with the expectation that he plays about 25 minutes a game once again. In his last two games, Bradley had nine points with six rebounds and then followed that up with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Bruce Brown , PG/SG BKN ($5,400)
The Nets are likely going to be a little shorthanded tonight, especially in the backcourt, so Brown has been a solid contributor with either 29 or 30 minutes in each of his last four games. In that stretch, Brown put up between 21 and 27 DK points as he averaged 11 points and six rebounds per game. If Brooklyn leans on him just a little more tonight, there is a good chance we see him break the 30-fantasy point mark.
