Michael Porter Jr., PF DEN -- $5,300
Denver is still going to be without Paul Millsap and Mason Plumlee here, which should lead to mid-20’s minutes for Porter. Porter has played at least 22 minutes in six straight games which has lead to ten-plus actual points, eight-plus rebounds and at least 25 FP in each of those games. He’s in a massive pace up spot against Memphis, who are third in pace and Denver is 29th, so extra possessions for Porter. He has three double-doubles over his last five games and it shouldn’t surprise anyone to see that change to four in his last six after tonight’s game.
Troy Brown, SF WAS -- $4,700
In any scenario you draw up, Brown makes sense as a value option. This game has the biggest implied total in Vegas, so that’s a benefit to the offense and Brown. Jordan McRae has been ruled out, which means Brown could see even more run as the backup small forward and shooting guard. If this game blows out, he’ll stay on the floor with the second unit and will dominate the usage over guys like Smith, Bonga and Pasecniks. He played 31 minutes last game -- the game McRae left with an injury -- and picked up some offensive slack pouring in 19 actual points. Brown averages a very respectable .94 FP/min mark this year with McRae off the floor. Brown is someone I’d consider elite value on Tuesday. He’s only 4.5K on DK as well.
Kyle Anderson , SG MEM -- $3,800
So this entire Memphis dynamic is interesting. What’s interesting is the fact that the team called up former first-round draft pick of the Phoenix Suns, Josh Jackson as Grayson Allen was put on the shelf with an injury of his own. Jae Crowder is considered doubtful which means we likely will see Anderson start once again, but will Jackson be thrown into the fire immediately? If so, this play isn’t for those who usually side with caution. Anderson played 28 minutes last time out and grabbed 12 rebounds to go along with six points, two assists and two blocks. He has the ability to stuff a box score when he is given extended run, he’s just a very low-usage player that could stand in the corner the entire game and not touch the ball on offense.
DraftKings
Marc Gasol , C TOR -- $4,900
After three straight games of 25 or fewer minutes, Gasol has hit and surpassed 30-plus minutes in back-to-back games. The match-up is ideal as Atlanta allows the seventh-most FP/game to opposing centers this season. The Raptors have the second-highest implied total on the board. Over his last six games, Gasol has averaged 27.2 minutes and 28.2 DK points/game. Elite value in this spot against the worst defense in basketball.
Marquese Chriss , PF/C GSW -- $4,300
We’re not really sure how the Warriors Center position will unfold on a nightly basis, but what we do know is that it’s likely that Chriss and Omari Spellman split the time regardless of who starts and who doesn’t. Chriss played 21 minutes his last time out and Spellman played 18 if that gives us any indication of what’s to come. He’s scored 20-plus DK points in three straight games and has accomplished that feat in seven of ten games. Chriss should be deployed primarily in tournaments.
Delon Wright , PG/SG DAL -- $4,100
Even though Seth Curry has taken over as the starter alongside Luka Doncic , Wright has been playing great basketball recently, notching 24.5 FP or more in three straight. He’s had four assists in three straight, eight-plus rebounds including 12 on Monday and two straight games of 11-plus actual points. This is a nice pace up spot for Dallas as well as Phoenix ranks ninth in pace while Dallas is 19th. Wright has spent most of his time this year (62%) at shooting guard and Phoenix allows the seventh-most FP/game to that position. Would limit my exposure to GPP’s.
