Key Injuries

Kyrie Irving - OUT

Kevin Durant - OUT

Kristaps Porzingis - ACTIVE

MVP/CPT

James Harden , PG/SG BKN - Yes, the man is UBER expensive but it is for a good reason I can assure you of that. With Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving off the floor this season Harden is averaging 1.64 FP/Min which is an outrageous number of fantasy points to average with a usage rate closing in of 34%. The Mavs are an OK defensive team but really nothing special. There is also plenty of value on the Nets side of this thing to fit Harden in comfortably and therefore I expect him to be the highest owned play on the slate.

Luka Doncic , PG DAL - Well, of course, IF you aren't going with Harden it is obviously because you went right here with Luka and why not? The Nets are the worst defensive team in the NBA and everything that Harden can do so can Doncic. I think there is actually a lineup build that gives you Doncic, Harden and Porzingis tonight on DraftKings that is fairly reasonible with all the value plays between these two teams once you get past the star players.

Kristaps Porzingis , PF/C - DAL - The wild card play as your MVP is going to be Porzingis here tonight. The Nets do not have a front court presence that can handle Porzingis tonight and he has 50+ fantasy point upside when going good. The only draw here is the fact that he has missed the last four games due to injury and he could be rusty, limited or both but you get some nice flexability using Zinger as your CPT I will tell you that.

UTIL

Joe Harris , SF BKN - Harris should be among the secondary scoring options for the Nets tonight with both Irving and Durant out of the lineup. The last game which both missed we saw Harris score 22 points with four rebounds and one assist over 31 minutes against the Suns. He took 13 shots in that game and this is a number that is more than repeatable. He also draws the better matchup with the Mavs giving up more fantasy points to small forwards than they do shooting guards.

Tim Hardaway Jr, SG, DAL - Hardaway has found success coming off the bench for Dallas this season as their sixth man. This is a matchup he should be able to take advantage of in terms of getting the shots. Making the shots will tell the story here however and fortunately Hardaway is having success from the field of late, shooting 51% from the floor and 39% from three-point range over the last three games.

Bruce Brown , SG, BKN  - Brown has played at least 25 minutes in each of the last three games while starting with Kevin Durant out of the lineup. Over that stretch he has scored no fewer than 27 DK points while shooting nearly 70% from the floor. The price is a bit up on Brown and if going the stars and scrubs approach it may be difficult to fit him in however if he starts I do like the upside he can bring to the table.

Jalen Brunson , PG DAL - Even before the Porzingis injury we saw Brunson having success off the bench as a scondary scorer for the Mavericks. Things have been no different lately and I expect him to still get that 20-to-25 minute run with the Mavericks second unit here against a bad Nets defense. He too is a bit expensive but that likely makes him lower owned as well and should he hit that could be a difference maker for your lineups.

Dart Throw

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot , SF BKN - One of the streakiest shooters in the league it feels like but he is at least starting tonight. TLC is not afraid to chuck the problem is that some nights that results in him going 1-for-7 like it he did against Orlando or 5-for-9 like he did agaisnt the Lakers. If he goes 5-for-9 at his price tag tonight and gives you 25+ fantasy points he will be one of the best bargains on the board. If he goes 1-for-7, well, you better hope for some secondary stats to help prevent him from being a total waste.

Landry Shamet , SG BKN - More value on the Nets side of things. Shamet is generally a low usage player but when the Nets are down rotational pieces the usage pops up a bit for him and that creates a nice oppurtunity to see him flourish. Against Orlando in the Nets blowout win he had 32 fantasy points in 29 minutes. He played 28 minutes off the bench against the Suns the last time Irving sat out and he scored 23 fantasy points in that game. There is certainly a bit of upside here.
