The Houston Rockets demolished the first place Oklahoma City Thunder in a game they controlled throughout. The final score was 125 - 111 in a game that was never really close. The Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans finished with 124 -108 victory for Los Angeles, and was well over the predicted total.

The real story of yesterday was Christian Braun who started hot for a double double, but ended with only two rebounds in the second half as the Golden State Warriors demolished the Denver Nuggets. A rough outing in the NBA betting world yesterday.

NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 4/5

There are only five games in the Association, but several close projected matches, including the first NBA best bet today.

Bucks vs Heat Prediction: Milwaukee -2.0 (-110 on Bet365) *BET OF THE NIGHT

The Milwaukee Bucks travel to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat. Both teams are in a competitive playoff ranking battle in the Eastern Conference. The Heat are currently tenth, but tied with the Chicago Bulls who own the tiebreaker over the Heat. Milwaukee is currently sixth in the East, but only 0.5 games back from the Detroit Pistons.

The Bucks have won two in a row, and Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing his best basketball of the season. In Milwaukee’s most recent match they covered a double digit spread, and Antetokounmpo delivered on his teased down point total. The thought is they will cover a low spread against an inconsistent team.

Miami lost their most recent match, and have lost four of their last ten games. They average 109.8 points per game which is five less than the Bucks who average 114.9 points per game. Milwaukee also has a positive point differential of +2.0 while the Heat do not have a point differential.

In games that are separated by such low spreads, it will come down to execution of game plans, coaching, and who has the more talented star and/or roster. Both the Bucks and the Heat have had difficulty executing game plans, and both teams have NBA champion head coaches. The difference will come down to the star of each team.

The Heat have an all-star in Tyler Herro, and it is debatable if he is the best player on their team. Their best player to begin the season left in a trade after a great deal of turmoil, but Bam Adebayo has been their most consistent player. When there is a debate on who the best player is and only one of them made the All-Star, it becomes telling about a roster. The Bucks have their best player, and he is a perennial MVP candidate that will receive several votes again this year. Antetokounmpo has proven the ability to carry a team, especially when it matters most. Just go look at his series clinching 50 point game in the NBA Finals for proof.

With that in mind Milwaukee gets the nod on the road to cover the spread. The Heat do not have a person that can guard Antetokounmpo one on one, and his assists have improved dramatically since the loss of Damian Lillard. Put a unit on the Bucks to cover the spread on Bet365 and if to new customers make sure to take advantage of the offer at the end of the article.

Knicks vs Hawks Prediction: Jalen Brunson O21.5 Points (-125 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

The New York Knicks travel down south to Atlanta to play the Hawks at State Farm Arena. This is an important game for the Knicks as their superstar could make his return. Jalen Brunson has missed the last 14 games, and could make his return today. The Knicks have survived without him, and due to the major game differences at second and fourth place, they have not experienced pressure with their lead man out.

They are still 2.5 games ahead of the Indiana Pacers with six games remaining on the schedule. A win today more or less ensures that they remain in third place heading into the playoffs. They do need their best player to get back in game shape for the playoff push though. When Brunson is on the court he is the focal point of the offense, and oftentimes control’s the game with the ball in his hands.

Brunson’s per game averages are; 35.4 minutes, 26.3 points, and 7.0 assists. If he comes back today he may not play 35 minutes, but then again Tom Thibodeau is the Head Coach. No other coach in the history of the NBA has been under more scrutiny for putting their players on the court as Thibodeau has. So Brunson could exceed his minutes, but either way Brunson is going to play his style of basketball.

He is going to be very ball dominant and will have opportunities to score against a terrible defense. The Atlanta Hawks allow 119.6 points per game, and are on a two game losing streak. Meanwhile the Knicks average 116.1 points per game. Brunson will want to test his lower body, conditioning, and field goal making ability. HIs point line has been dropped five points below his average against a poor defense.

Put a unit on Brunson to score over 21.5 points in his first game back. If you are a new customer to DraftKings Sportsbook make sure to take advantage of Fantasy Alarm’s exclusive offer.

Timberwolves vs 76ers Predictions: Rudy Gobert O12.5 Rebound (+105 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

The last NBA best bet today involves the Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers playing at the Wells Fargo Center. The 76ers continue their epic quest for a high lottery pick, and have lost ten games in a row. The spread of -16.0 should be covered by a hot Timberwolves team, but it is not recommended.

Instead Rudy Gobert earns his second best bet in as many games. In the Timberwolves most recent match he cleared over 12.5 rebounds midway through the second quarter. Today he is playing the 76ers who could be playing the game with their fourth center on the depth chart. And as much hate as Gobert receives from players/media he is an elite center.

He has recorded a season average of 10 or more rebounds every year since 2015-16, and is on pace to do it again this year. Although dealing with injuries Gobert has still played 67 games this season, and the Timberwolves benefit greatly when he is in the match. Gobert is averaging 10.7 rebounds per game this season, but has recorded much more in the last stretch of the regular season.

Gobert’s rebounding totals over his last six games are; 18, 12, 25, 13, 16, and 11. The 76ers have allowed an average of 53.1 rebounds per game this season, and an average of 53.3 over their last three matches. They are a bottom ten rebounding team, and Gobert is playing his best basketball of the season.

For a second game in a row put a unit on Gobert to cover his rebounding proposition at plus odds. Remember to check out Fantasy Alarm’s DFS playbook on a short slate of games, as well as our thoughts for the NCAA Men’s Final Four match between Duke and Houston.
