NBA Best Bets Today, 4/4: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Friday

Meatloaf is back on the NBA best bets menu! There were some exceptional performances yesterday, starting with Rudy Gobert absolutely dominating the Brooklyn Nets.
Rudy Gobert earned 18 total rebounds but went over the 11.5 rebounding line midway through the second quarter, successfully cashing the plus odds proposition. The Milwaukee Bucks covered the -12 spread against the Philadelphia 76ers, and Giannis Antetokounmpo cleared the teased down point line with ease. Thus, cashing our plus odds Same Game Parlay.
The Los Angeles Lakers were unable to win against the Golden State Warriors, and the -1 spread was not covered. But the words of Meatloaf’s ballad ring true, ‘Two out of three ain’t bad’, and +1.67 units were earned from the successful NBA predictions.
NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 4/4
There are ten matches across the Association today with several expected blowouts.
However, one game is expected to be close, and it is the first of our NBA best bets today.
Nuggets vs. Warriors Prediction: Christian Braun Double-Double (+1500 on DraftKings) *BET OF THE NIGHT
The Golden State Warriors host the Denver Nuggets in a game with major playoff seeding implications. Due to the Warriors victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, the Lakers moved back 0.5 games behind the Nuggets. Golden State was able to remain in fifth place with a 0.5 game advantage over the Memphis Grizzlies who also won.
Golden State played on the road last night, and Los Angeles to San Francisco isn’t that far, but the Nuggets were already in San Francisco last night. They were able to rest and prepare for this match. Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon, and Christian Braun are listed as probable, and Braun is the focus of this match.
Some may be reading this and unaware of who he is, but he is an excellent wing for the Nuggets. He has been a fastbreak scoring machine, and set the Nuggets record for most fastbreak points in a game, 18. He is also an excellent rebounder who utilizes hustle and a high basketball IQ to be in the best position.
He earned a double-double in the Nuggets most recent match, and although Michael Porter is expected back, Braun is still a rebounding force. He is averaging 15.2 points per game this season, and the points should not be an issue. His rebounding average is just 5.2 per game, but he has double digit rebounds in two of his last three games.
The Warriors are a decent rebounding team, but they are heavily reliant on 36-year-old Draymond Green to enforce control around the rim. They allow 52.3 rebounds per game which is 16th, or right at the median. They were in a battle with the Lakers last night and are going to have difficulty with the deceptive size and strength of Braun.
He is listed as 6’ 6”, 220 pounds but he plays much bigger. With teammate Gordon’s injury woes this season, Braun has become the dunker and outlet near the rim. Braun plays more like a power forward, while Gordon is having the best three-point season of his career… It's almost like a role reversal even though Braun is listed as the scoring guard and Gordon the power forward.
A wager was placed against the Timberwolves for this to happen, and it did. If he repeats his performance, it will be a +15.0-unit gain… not too shabby.
Pelicans vs. Lakers Prediction: Under 220.5 (-110 on Bet365)
The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off of a tough loss last night, in a game in which Luka Doncic was not himself. The Warriors played tough defense and made the Lakers play from the outside, which is not the Lakers strength. Lebron James and Austin Reaves each played 40 minutes, and Doncic played 38. Their big three will be tired, as they scored 88 of the Lakers 116 points yesterday. They are going to be tired.
Meanwhile the New Orleans Pelicans have been one of the worst offensive teams since the All-Star break. That is to be expected when a team has experienced the injuries that they have this season. They have not scored over 100 points in their last four games and failed to get to triple digits in seven of their last ten games.
The Lakers could come out flat with a low scoring first quarter which would benefit this portion of NBA best bets today. The Lakers could focus on defense, forcing a bad offensive team to earn every point it gets. Both of those options could happen in this match, and that is the prediction for it.
The Lakers only have six games remaining on their schedule but are only 2.0 games ahead of the eighth place Los Angeles Clippers. Their remaining schedule consists of the Oklahoma City Thunder twice, Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, and Portland Trail Blazers. Of all those games, only the Rockets are at home, and the Lakers must win against the Pelicans tonight as it is their last match that is essentially a guaranteed win with a -13.5 spread.
It’s a must win, but that doesn’t mean it will be high scoring, and the spread is in question. Look for the game to be low scoring, put a unit on it at Bet365. To anyone who may be new to Bet365 make sure to take advantage of the promotional offer at the end of this article.
Best NBA Prop Bets & Other Picks Today, 4/4
There is only one match with a spread below -6.0, the Nuggets versus Warriors match.
The next closest spread is -6.0 and it is the last of our NBA best bets today.
Thunder vs. Rockets Prediction: Oklahoma City -6 (-110 on DraftKings) *2.0U
The Oklahoma City Thunder travel to play the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center. The Rockets are playing great basketball, winners of eight of their last ten matches. But the Thunder have played better and are winners of eleven straight games. The top two seeds in the Western Conference collide in what could be a Western Conference Finals preview.
The Rockets may be in second place, but they are 14.5 games behind the Thunder. It’s one of the largest margins from a first to second place team in the history of the NBA, that is how good Oklahoma City has been in the regular season. To make matters worse for the Rockets, their leader, Dillon Brooks, is suspended one game for his 16th technical foul of the season. Despite that the spread is just -6.0 points.
The Thunder do have four players listed as out for today’s match. They are Ajay Mitchell, Jaylin Williams, Alex Ducas, and Ousmane Dieng, but none of them are starters and only Williams plays meaningful minutes. The Thunder have a +13.4 point differential, and for some reason the spread is less than half of that total.
Something is incorrect in the computing, the Rockets are not as great as their record indicates, and they are losing their best defensive player. Put two units on this at DraftKings as other sportsbooks have the line set at -6.5, and hooks are best avoided when placing double unit wagers. If you do not have DraftKings Sportsbook, make sure to take advantage of Fantasy Alarm’s promotional offer with this double unit hammer.

Player News
Dorian Finney-Smith shot 6-of-9 from the field in Friday’s win over the Rockets, scoring 18 points with three steals and six three-pointers in 30 minutes.
Friday’s victory secured the three-seed in the West for the Lakers, which would mean a second-round matchup with Houston if both teams got out of the first round. For that reason, Finney-Smith’s last two performances against the Rockets were notable. After shooting 6-of-11 from three in the Lakers’ March 31 win over Houston, he was 6-of-8 on Friday. From a fantasy standpoint, Finney-Smith provided the three-pointers and steals on Friday that many managers expect from him. We’ll see if he plays against Portland on Sunday, as nothing will be on the line for the Lakers.
Austin Reaves tallied 23 points (9-of-15 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and three three-pointers in 33 minutes in Friday’s win over the Rockets.
Luka Doncic recorded 39 points (13-of-19 FGs, 8-of-14 FTs), eight rebounds, seven assists, one steal and five three-pointers in 31 minutes in Friday’s win over the Rockets.
Reed Sheppard amassed 14 points (5-of-14 FGs), three rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block and four three-pointers in 41 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Lakers.
Cam Whitmore shot 13-of-19 from the field and 1-of-1 from the foul line in Friday’s loss to the Lakers, scoring 34 points with eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and seven three-pointers in 37 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Lakers.
LeBron James (leg) finished Friday’s win over the Rockets with 14 points (6-of-11 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), four rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one three-pointer in 22 minutes.
James suffered an apparent left leg injury during the third quarter of Friday’s game, exiting with 7:27 remaining. He did not return, with some wondering if the 40-year-old tweaked the groin injury that sidelined him for seven games in mid-March. However, the heating pad applied to James’ leg appeared to be on his quad. Following the game, Lakers coach JJ Redick said Friday’s victory secured the three-seed in the West, so there’s no reason for James to play in Sunday’s game against the Trail Blazers. Expect plenty of Dalton Knecht after the rookie only logged four minutes against the Rockets.
