NBA Best Bets Today, 3/24: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Monday

Yesterday’s bet of the night for our NBA picks was a successful plus odds wager, as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Toronto Raptors on the road. However, Christian Braun and Mark Williams were unable to convert the over on their player props.
Braun was only one field goal away, but Williams was never really close. That left yesterday’s NBA predictions with a -2.0-unit loss due the double wager on Williams over 10.5 rebounds.
NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 3/24
There are eight matches today with several projected close scores.
One of those matches is the first of our NBA best bets today.
Lakers vs. Magic Prediction: Los Angeles -4 (-110 on Bet365) *BET OF THE NIGHT
The Los Angeles Lakers travel across the country to take on the Orlando Magic, in what is the second highest spread of today. None of the games are projected blowouts, as positional battles and entering the playoffs healthy take top priority. Both the Lakers and the Magic are in such positions.
The Lakers are currently fourth in the Western Conference, and if home court advantage in the first round is important, then they need to start winning. The Lakers are only 0.5 games ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies, 2.5 games ahead of the Golden State Warriors, and 3.0 games away from the play-in, and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Los Angeles is also a much better home team (historically the foul differential alone helps) with a 28-9 record compared to 15-18 on the road.
Nonetheless the expectation is for them to cover the spread today. Luka Doncic and LeBron James are expected to both play with James listed as probable. They could also get Rui Hachimura back as he is listed as questionable instead of out. They will have a much better offense on the court, they are averaging 8.0 points per game more than the Magic, 112.8 - 104.8.
At some point Doncic will have a scoring frenzy, and the Magic do not have someone that can shut him down. Doncic and James open up passing lanes that will benefit their team with more points. The Magic do not have depth on their bench, and the Lakers have length in their starters.
Los Angeles has the fifth best record against the spread, 39-30-1 and have covered 56.5% of their games. With their dynamic duo on the court, and the pressure of losing home court advantage, look for the Lakers to possibly double the spread tonight. Put a unit on the Lakers to cover the -4.0 spread, and for those that have not downloaded Bet365 make sure to take advantage of the promotional offer at the end of this article.
Celtics vs. Kings Prediction: Boston -3.5 (-110 on DraftKings)
From Los Angeles playing on the east coast, to the Boston Celtics playing on the west coast. The Sacramento Kings host the Boston Celtics at the Golden 1 Center with a 10:00 PM ET tip off. Boston comes into this match with a lower spread than the Lakers. The Celtics are safely in second place of the Eastern Conference, and their main focus is entering the playoffs healthy.
The Celtics played last night and were victorious against the Portland Trail Blazers. Jaylen Brown is going to evaluate his knee issues today and could return. Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday both were out yesterday, and their injury report will be available following the walk through today. Sacramento is also in a positional battle but dealing with injuries to their best players.
Sacramento is currently ninth in the Western Conference, and only 1.5 games ahead of both the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks. Their best player, Domantas Sabonis, has been out and is listed as questionable today. Malik Monk and Devin Carter are both listed as questionable with an illness and could miss as well. The Kings have a challenge in front of them regardless of if those players are healthy, but without Sabonis and Monk it would be really difficult to take down the defending champions.
Boston has had success with various starters out of their lineup and playing almost as if they have two rosters capable of winning against any team. That is how deep their bench is, and how great their stars are. A -3.5-point spread seems way off, even for the second of back-to-back games. As tempting as it is to tease up the spread, put a unit on the set line and look for Boston to control this match.
Best NBA Prop Bets & Other Picks Today, 3/24
There are several teams in back-to-back matches or managing injuries.
However, one player proposition really sticks out compared to the rest as he is rested and playing well.
Bulls vs. Nuggets Prediction: Nikola Vucevic O9.5 Rebounds (-105 on DraftKings) *2.0 U
Nikola Vucevic has been on a roll in his last few games, helping the Chicago Bulls win seven of their last ten matches. The Bulls play the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena tonight, with a 9:00 PM ET tip off. The Bulls are rested for this match and have been in Denver longer than the Nuggets. The Nuggets played a tough road game against the Houston Rockets last night, in which they were victorious. The game lasted until about 8:00 PM MT, and they flew back from Houston following the win.
Now they have to play on tired legs and against a team playing their best basketball of the season. In addition to that, they will likely be without Nikola Jokic for the fifth straight game, and that will be a major advantage to this portion of our NBA best bets, today in particular.
DeAndre Jordan had a throwback performance in his hometown of Houston. He played his most minutes since 2018 and had season high numbers across the board. Including 38 minutes, 15 rebounds, and 11 points. He also did not play in the previous nine matches; it was an amazing performance to watch him control the paint against All-Star Alperen Sengun.
Will he be able to repeat that performance, or even be available for today’s match? That is yet to be determined, but Nikola Vucevic will be available, and he will have an advantage over whoever the Nuggets put at center. Vucevic has 10 or more rebounds in three of his last four matches, and a season average of 10.1 per game.
It’s true that the Denver Nuggets are an excellent rebounding team, allowing the third fewest to opponents, 49.7 per game. But Steven Adams and Sengun both had double digit rebound totals yesterday, and Vucevic is 260 pounds and has a 7’ 5” wingspan. He’s big, strong, and has 14 years of experience, with the tricks and IQ to go with it.
