NBA Best Bets Today, 2/27: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Thursday

In yesterday’s NBA picks, Karl-Anthony Towns let us down by not playing and pushed his rebounding line to a void. And without Towns the New York Knicks could not even cover half the original spread. New York is looking more like a team ready for a first-round exit than they are a title contender.
Josh Giddey couldn't quite earn nine rebounds against the Los Angeles Clippers, proving that Nikola Vucevic is the only dependable Chicago Bulls player on the glass. The parlay on the Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets spreads was successful and kept the damage at -0.5 units. Those NBA predictions nicked us but didn't cut us.

Warriors vs. Magic Prediction: Wendell Carter O8.5 Rebounds (+115 on Bet365) *2.0 U, BET OF THE NIGHT
For our NBA best bets today, the Bet of the Night comes from Florida where the Orlando Magic host the Golden State Warriors. Orlando fans are hungry for the basketball they witnessed at the beginning of the year. The Magic are slowly returning to health and could make a push up the rankings over the last third of the regular season. They are still a tough team at home too, with an 18-12 record at the Kia Center.
One player that has been dependable since returning from injury is Orlando’s starting center, Wendell Carter He has been a force around the rim and is the highest projected rebounder in today’s match. Golden State is allowing 53.1 rebounds per game, which is eleventh most in the association, and allowed 59 in their most recent match. Carter Jr. has a 7’ 5” wingspan, and should be a ball hawk for anything that bounces off the rim or glass.
On Bet365 his odds are positive, and the line is at 8.5, while on DraftKings and other sportsbooks his line is 7.5 and the over is heavily juiced. Carter Jr. has nine or more rebounds in four of his last five matches and is playing a bad rebounding team. Put two units on Carter Jr. upholding his end of the deal and covering his 8.5 rebounding line.
Nuggets vs. Bucks Prediction: Denver -3.5 (-115 on Bet365)
The Denver Nuggets have had two days' rest to prepare for the Milwaukee Bucks. This is a match against two top teams of their respective conference, and it is the marque, nationally televised match between two NBA Finals MVPs. Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo take center stage in what should be a great match.
The Sportsbooks have this as a close one, -3.5 spread in favor of the Denver Nuggets. Antetokounmpo is listed as day-to-day but with the spread so close it’s a good indication that he is going to play. The sportsbooks know more about injury reports than the national media, and they believe he is playing, and so do we. However, that is not going to help Milwaukee as they deal with the monster that is the Denver Nuggets starting roster.
Jamal Murray has been on a heater lately and Milwaukee does not have a person on their roster that can slow him down. They have a terrible defensive back court, and their only hope will be to keep pace. Nikola Jokic is going to be a problem if anyone, but Antetokounmpo attempts to guard him.
Lopez gets credit as a good defender, but his footwork is not good enough to prevent Jokic from scoring, passing, and dominating this game. Michael Porter is set for another great match, and Aaron Gordon looks 100% healthy and scoring far and close to the rim. Christian Braun is arguably the most improved player in the Association, and Russell Westbrook is finally being utilized correctly and at times leads a very underrated second unit.
The spread could be teased up, but the Nuggets sometimes start slow after an extended rest. They are the best first quarter team in the NBA and should come out fast… but accounting for unaccountable variables is part of a smart bettor.
This is an example of that, plus the books have been really accurate on the spread of nationally televised games. Trust the starting lineup of Denver to overwhelm the new look Bucks. Put a unit on the Nuggets to cover the low spread on the road.
Best NBA Prop Bets & Other Picks Today, 2/27
Player props and alternative bets often provide the best value on a busy NBA night like this one.
Here is the best option for NBA best bets today, February 27.
Hornets vs. Mavericks Prediction: Mark Williams O10.5 Rebounds (+100 on DraftKings)
Mark Williams is somewhat of an interesting figure and has drawn more attention since the Los Angeles Lakers reneged on their trade with him. He did sit out due to conditioning, and he has been a frustrating player to manage in fantasy basketball. However, he is, without question, a rebounding machine.
Despite only playing 25 minutes in his most recent match against the Golden State Warriors, he earned 12 rebounds. That is a rebound every two minutes or essentially, one out of every four possessions. That is an outstanding rate, and he has another fantastic matchup tonight.
The Charlotte Hornets are playing the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center, and it is a dream matchup for rebounding props. This line hasn’t been teased up but can be found on other sportsbooks at 9.5 with juiced odds.
You might as well look at the double-double if you go that route. Over 10.5 rebounds at even odds against a team that just allowed 64 rebounds in their most recent match is a good angle. The Mavericks are on their fourth string center, who is actually their starting power forward.
P.J. Washington is a fantastic basketball player but playing out of position. The Mavericks have allowed an average of 53.3 rebounds per game, and an average of 61.3 over their last three games. Both marks are near worst in the Association, and Williams has an opportunity to earn a season high against Dallas. Put a unit on the even odds player proposition at DraftKings.
