The last day of the eighth week of the NBA season is upon us. If Fantasy Alarm has anything to say about how today’s NBA picks go it will be a sweep or at minimum a third day of Meatloaf, always fresh, never frozen.

Jazz vs. Clippers Prediction: SGP: LAC -4.5 & Harden 20+ Points (+100 on DraftKings) *Bet of the Night

The Utah Jazz travel to the Intuit Dome to take on the Los Angeles Clippers in a Western Conference match. The Clippers are on a three game losing streak and have an opportunity to play after a couple of days of rest. The Jazz are on a two game losing streak and could bring a younger energy than the Clippers.

However the Clippers have won five of their last ten games and have a 9-6 record at home. The Jazz have won two of their last ten games and have an embarrassing 3-9 record on the road. The Clippers are -8 favorites on the spread, but a teased down number is suggested.

Although the Clippers should win this game, eight points seems like a bit much with them not playing their best lately. On the other side the Jazz are 10-13 against the spread this season, and betting on them to cover the +8 is risky. That is why today’s bet of the night has been teased to -4.5.

James Harden is playing at another elite All-Star level, carrying the Los Angeles Clippers without Kawhi Leonard. He has been in a slump lately though, unable to score more than 15 points in his last two games. He has a combined 20 points in the Clippers last three games, although he did sit out one game. He did have 20 or more points in the previous six of seven games, and we are counting on it again.

A game against the Utah Jazz can help both James and the Clippers get back to top form. Put a unit on this teased down parlay at even odds.

 

 

 

Nuggets vs. Kings Prediction: Denver -1.5 (+120 on Bet365)

This is a bit peculiar as the Denver Nuggets are slight underdogs at the Golden 1 Center versus the Sacramento Kings. Nikola Jokic is expected to play, but Jamal Murray and Christian Braun are listed as day-to-day. This is why the spread is so close.

The Nuggets are in fifth of the Western Conference one game out of third. The Kings are thirteenth in the Western Conference, and the crazy part is only 1.5 games separates their record. The Kings actually have just as many wins as the Nuggets, but they also have three more losses.

The Kings are 6-7 at home, meanwhile the Nuggets are 6-6 on the road. Denver has played without Murray for several games this season, and several games throughout his career. As great as Jamal Murray is, the Nuggets depth and rotation are used to this, and it is partially why they traded for Russell Westbrook this offseason.

Christian Bruan does unnoticed work for Denver. Cut backs, a great pass game with Nikola Jokic, and tough rebounding when needed. However, the Nuggets should be able to overcome his minutes if he is unable to play. The Nuggets are simply the better team, but this should be a close one. Tease the spread the other way, in favor of the Nuggets. The plus odds are great, and the Nuggets still have the best player in the world.

Bulls vs. Raptors Prediction: Nikola Vucevic Over 1.5 Threes Made (-135 on DraftKings)

We have not bet on The Well during the Chicago Bulls last two games, and Nikola Vucevic did not make over 1.5 threes in either of those games. To his credit he did not play against the Charlotte Hornets in the Bulls most recent game but went 1-2 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

This has caused his odds to come down to a more reasonable line. -135 on our most successful bet this season is something we can not pass up. It is wise to lay off a bet from time to time due to our philosophy of adhering to The Law of Averages.

However the break is over, and we are back to putting the bucket down, and the prediction is for the Montenegrin to get back on track and deliver tonight.

Prior to the most recent two games Nikola Vucevic covered this prop in seven of his last eight games. The Raptors do not have a defender to match up with him beyond the perimeter and Jakob Poeltl is focused on rebounds even more so with Scottie Barnes out again.
