Only one of three bets came through in yesterday’s NBA best bets, and naturally it was The Well. Nikola Vucevic provided once again in what was an off day of betting on NBA picks. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope could not get off the hook although he played 35 minutes. One steal away from a Meatloaf day.

Victor Wembanyama earned exactly what we predicted, 10 rebounds, but the San Antonio Spurs lost to the Miami Heat, causing the parlay to be unsuccessful. It was a risk, but the prediction did not go as planned.

NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 1/20

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the NBA has a great slate of games, three of which are on national television.

Seven games were originally scheduled but the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers game has been moved up to accommodate for the games lost due to the recent fires.

Celtics vs. Warriors Prediction: Jayson Tatum O9.5 Rebounds (+110 on DraftKings) *Bet of the Night

A court full of champions will battle at the Chase Center. It is one of the three nationally televised games, and rightfully so. Although the Boston Celtics are favored by double digits this should be a closer game, with some back-and-forth action. The Celtics are somewhat in a slump with four losses in their last ten games.

Granted that is not terrible, but Boston are champion favorites, and the standards are set higher. None deliver more for the Celtics than Jayson Tatum, and he is as reliable as ever. Tatum is averaging 36.5 minutes per game, 27.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game.

When reviewing his proposition bets something sticks out and is off. Tatum’s double-double line is at -105, but his rebound line is set at 9.5 with plus odds. He has not recorded ten or more assists in his last ten games, and averages almost half as less. This indicates the double-double is relying on his rebounds.

Tatum has ten or more rebounds in four of his last seven games, and the Golden State Warriors allow the sixth most rebounds per game in the association. Kristaps Prozingis is playing, but Tatum has been a rebounding force this season, averaging almost ten per game.

The Celtics lost their most recent game, and playing against Golden State is always motivation. Look for Tatum to outhustle and out rebound an older and slower team. Put a unit on his plus odds proposition for ten or more rebounds tonight.

Hawks vs. Knicks Prediction: Karl-Anthony Towns U14.5 Rebounds (-110 on DraftKings)

This could be Karl-Anthony Towns third successful prediction in a row, as he was a late scratch the last time Fantasy Alarm suggested his bet. The other two bets were predictions for less rebounds than the proposition, and his line was moved once again.

Pulling down 15 is several rebounds for any player, and although he’s capable of earning that many, Towns hasn’t played the last two games. In the previous four games prior, he earned 15 or more just once. He may be full go but could also be restricted in his playing time.

Either way Towns has an issue with being in foul trouble or sits out the last minutes of the fourth quarter. The New York Knicks are -6.5 favorites over the Atlanta Hawks, who allow the tenth most rebounds per game this season, 52.9. Should it become a blowout, Towns would likely be on the bench to close the game.

Clint Capela is older but still averaging 9.0 rebounds per game, and the Atlanta Hawks are playing better. They have won 3 in a row, and Trae Young always brings the injury at Madison Square Garden. There are several factors against 15 or more rebounds for Towns, put a unit on Karl-Anthony Towns to go under his inflated line of 14.5.

NBA Player Props & Other Picks Today, 1/20

Nikola Vucevic was the only successful wager of yesterday’s NBA best bets. As he gets ready to play his second game in as many nights, Fantasy Alarm has faith in him.

The Chicago Bulls are playing at the Intuit Dome against the Los Angeles Clippers, who are also playing in back-to-back games.

Bulls vs. Clippers Prediction: Nikola Vucevic O10.5 Rebounds (-115 on Bet365)

Clippers center Ivica Zubac is having a career year but has really suffered on the second of back-to-back games. In his most recent two back-to-back games he recorded eight and seven rebounds, both well below his average of 12.7. This should help Vucevic who is steady and earned the nickname The Well for a reason.

Vucevic has a line of 10.5 tonight with much better odds, and the Bulls are playing their eleventh game of the month. Vucevic has been dependent through almost all of it. He has 11 or more rebounds in eight of the ten games, and 16 in the Bulls only back-to-back game.

Vucevic has delivered in what seems like almost every Chicago game this month, and on a holiday should have another great game. The Clippers do not have the deepest bench, and Vucevic is being displayed as a lucrative player in a trade. Pick The Well to go over 10.5 rebounds at near even odds.
