BET OF THE NIGHT

Philadelphia 76ers Moneyline -160 MGM

The Philadelphia 76ers come off a disappointing loss on the road against the Miluawkee Bucks. After a short rest, they go to Canada to play the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors are in back-to-back games and their game against the Chicago Bulls went into overtime last night. The Raptors had four players go over 36 minutes of play time, and some could get a rest, or be on restricted minutes tonight. The 76ers had four players score over 20 points against the Bucks, and Joel should improve on his seven rebounds against the Raptors. This should limit second chance points which hurt them against Miluawkee. The odds on the monyeline have moved a bit, from -150 last night to -160 this morning, but the spread has remained at -3.5. This could be an indicator the ‘sharps’ are moving on the moneyline, a good thing for THE BET OF THE NIGHT.

New Orleans Pelicans Moneyline -150 MGM

The New Orleans Pelicans are only in a few nationally televised games this year, and tonight is one of them. On top of that they have their home-opener tonight, in front of what will be a rowdy crowd (It’s Saturday in New Orleans for goodness sake). The Pelicans won a tough match against the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday despite having over 20 turnovers. They should tighten up those mental errors after two days of practice and film study. Although the Knicks are one of the favorites to make a deep run in the Eastern Conference, the Pelicans are in the Western Conference. Teams in the Western Conference are bigger/taller, and the Pelicans are no exception to the rule. Jonas Valanciunas, Zion Williamson, and Brandon Ingram are going to create some defensive problems for the Knicks. Cj McCollum led the team in points, assist, and one minute shy of leading the team in playing time. He looks in great shape and is shooting wonderfully, 6/11 from behind the arc against the Grizzlies. The Knicks are on their second game of back-to-back and four starters (RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson, Julius Randle, Jalen Brunson) exceeded 33 minutes. Trust the Pelicans to get the win in their first home game of the season.

PROP OF THE NIGHT

Jonas Valanciunas OVER 2.5 REBOUNDS 1ST QUARTER -150

Jonas is a double-double machine. He has a career average of 9.5 rebounds per game…. That is over 12 years of NBA action! Jonas rebounds has been a profitable bet for over three years, and he earned 12 against Memphis. He usually starts strong and is earning a little more rest in his later years. With this information in mind, his first quarter prop of three rebounds needed seems more than plausible. Remember the Knicks had four starters with over 33 minutes last night, starting center Mitchell Robinson had the most with 38 minutes. Power Forward Julius Randle had the second most minutes with 34 minutes. Those two combined for 25 rebounds last night… that was five more than all the rest of the Knicks combined! Jonas should be well rested and be able to get a better position on them, because he is bigger. The Knicks could have some off shots as well, due to so many minutes the night before. This benefits Jonas with more defensive rebounds, which is the easier rebound for centers to get. Cheer on the big fella to grab the boards early.
