The FanDuel Partners Basketball Championship (FPBC) is a daily fantasy sports competition to decide which website is the top fantasy basketball projector in the industry. It will be a five a week competition with contests being held on each Wednesday and Friday for a total of 10 contests. The site with the top aggregate score wins a trip to the Playboy Mansion. We got it started off the right way by finishing first in the first contest with 313 fantasy points on Wednesday. You can see the full results here. Point Guard
Mike Conley, $6,900 – The Grizzlies are relying on him more with Marc Gasol out. The Lakers are one of the worst teams when it comes to defending point guards, something Conley has taken full advantage of by averaging 21.5 points, five rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 2.5 steals in two games vs them this season.
Kyle Lowry, $8,800 – Our projections have him putting up 44.3 fantasy points (5.03 times his price tag), which is just 2.6 points less than the top point guard on the slate, John Wall, who is projected for 46.9 points. Plus, Lowry has had his way vs the Cavs this season by averaging 25 points, 3.5 rebounds, eight assists, and three steals in two games vs them
Shooting Guard
Jamal Crawford, $5,000 – The Kings give up the most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards, which bodes well for Crawford, who should log 30-plus minutes of playing time in a high scoring game. Our projections have him as the second best value at the position with 27 fantasy points which is 5.38 times his price tag.
Evan Fournier, $5,500 – He’s playing almost 40 minutes a game for the Magic and has put up at least 27 fantasy points in eight straight games. I’ll be perfectly fine with 27-30 fantasy points from him tonight.
Small Forward
Rudy Gay, $7,100 – Need to target players in this game and Gay is a perfect player to target because he’s averaging a fantasy-point-per-minute vs the Clippers this season. Our projections have him just reaching value at 35.2 fantasy points, which is his floor. He can explode for a big game if he’s able to get a couple of steals and/or blocks.
Matt Barnes, $5,000 – The projections list him as the best value choice at the position with 27 fantasy points (well, 26.9 fantasy points to be exact), which is 5.38 times his price tag.
Power Forward
Paul Millsap, $7,800 – Best option at the position, especially since he gets steals and blocks. Our projections have him as the top power forward with 41.5 expected fantasy points, which is 5.32 times his price tag.
Julius Randle, $6,100 – The mid-tier selections at power forward are a bit tricky tonight. Randle is no lock to have a monster game, but our projections really like him with an expected total of 31.1 fantasy points (5.1 times his value).
Center
Al Horford, $7,800 – He’s averaging a ridiculous 24.5 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in two games vs the Bulls this season. Our projections have him finishing with 38.6 fantasy points, which is only 1.5 points less than Vucevic (40.1 FPS) and only three points less than Pau Gasol, who are both priced higher than Horford.
