Mike ConleyYES!! Basketball is finally here as the NBA will tip-off the 2014-2015 season on Tuesday night. Words cannot express how excited I am for this NBA season, and not just because my Memphis Grizzlies have a serious shot of winning the Western Conference, but also because fantasy basketball and daily fantasy basketball are back as well. Fantasy Alarm has all the tools you need to be prepared for the upcoming basketball season with the Fantasy Alarm Draft Guide, which includes strategies and tips for DFS. Fantasy Alarm is also going to publish a DFS playbook for fantasy basketball on almost a daily basis. Jeff Mans and Ted Schuster hit a home run with the DFS playbook for Baseball, as well as providing a DFS playbook for Football, which has been so successful at winning people money, that other DFS sites have copied their style by creating their own DFS playbook (which doesn’t come close to what the Fantasy Alarm produces). They will pass the playbook responsibilities to me for Basketball, which is going to be a slam dunk as well.

The playbook will use in-depth projections to give you the best plays at each position that will lead you to victory and will put some extra cash in your pockets as well. The first official playbook will be out on Tuesday, but just to give you a small taste of what you can expect from the playbook, here are some of the best value plays on Draftkings for Tuesday’s three game slate.

Scoring: 1 fantasy point per point scored, 1.25 FP per rebound, 1.5 FP per assist, 2 FP per block or steal, 0.5 FP per 3-pointer made, -0.5 FP per turnover,  1.5 FP per double-double, and 3 FP per triple-double

(Price on DraftKings)

Jameer Nelson PG, DAL ($4,600)- Starting Point Guard? Check. Will produce assists (averaged seven assists per game last season)? Check. Price is right? Check. Nelson is one the best plays of the night because his price is extremely low for a player that will put up close to 30 fantasy points (averaged 28 FP last season).

Elfrid Payton PG, ORL ($5,100)-  The rookie is set the be the starting point guard for the Magic because he has the ability to dish out plenty of assists, while grabbing some rebounds and producing steals as well. He’s a high risk/ high reward type of player that has the chance to wow us with a near triple double or fall flat on his face by barely reaching his value.

Ben Gordon SG, ORL ($3,000)- The Magic are going to be without Victor Oladipo for quite some time because of a facial fracture he suffered in practice after getting an elbow to the face. Therefore, the Magic have to replace him in the starting lineup with either Evan Fournier or Ben Gordon. Even if Fournier gets the start, expect a lot of Ben Gordon because they didn’t give Gordon a two year deal worth nine million dollars for him to sit his ass on the bench. He’s a professional scorer that will have no problem exceeding his minimal price tag on Tuesday.

Wesley Johnson SF, LAL ($4,000)- The jack of all trades, Johnson does a bit of everything by knocking down three pointers, and producing a block and steal per game. He averaged 29.6 fantasy points in four games vs the Rockets last year and he’ll have another quality game vs them to start the season.
