NBA Injury Report: Week of November 21
Boston Celtics: Boston was back to full strength over the weekend with both Al Horford and Jae Crowder returning to the starting for their game this past Saturday night. There are no minute restrictions for either of them, and you can safely go back to targeting them in your league.
Brooklyn Nets: Jeremy Lin’s hamstring kept him out of action last week, and there is currently no concrete timetable for his return.
Charlotte Hornets: Cody Zeller was held out of Saturday’s game after suffering a shoulder injury during Friday’s game against the Hawks. It was the second game of a back to back for Charlotte, and Zeller should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday’s game at Memphis. Jeremy Lamb has not played during the month of November, but has been practicing, and expected to return sometime this week.
Chicago Bulls: Doug McDermott has missed the last four games due to lingering issues from a concussion he suffered back on November 12th. Owners will have to wait for him to clear concussion protocols before having a chance to rejoin the Bulls during their last two games of their road trip.
Dallas Mavericks: J.J. Barea is expected to be out until at least January after tearing a leg muscle in his leg during last Wednesday’s game. Both Dirk Nowitzki and Deron Williams will miss Monday night’s game against the Spurs. Dirk will be missing his 8th straight game due to his Achilles, while Deron remains out with his nagging calf injury. Consider both questionable for a return on Wednesday night.
Indiana Pacers: Paul George (ankle) and C.J Miles (knee) both missed Sunday’s game against the Thunder, and are ruled out for Monday’s game against the Warriors. Their next opportunity would come Wednesday against the Hawks, where they should be considered questionable to play until an updated report come out.
Memphis Grizzlies: Chandler Parsons has been ruled for Monday’s game with a bruised knee, and is unlikely to return until the beginning of December. Tony Allen re-aggravated his groin during Saturday’s game, and is questionable for Monday’s game against Charlotte.
Miami Heat: Justise Winslow missed the Heat’s last three games with a sprained wrist, and is considered a game time decision to play Monday night against Philadelphia.
Minnesota Timberwolves: Zach LaVine is now back in the starting lineup, and Shabazz Muhammad has returned to coming off the bench for Minnesota. Brandon Rush missed his seventh straight game on Saturday though with a toe injury, and is listed as day-to day heading into Monday night’s game against Boston.
New Orleans Pelicans: Jrue Holiday made his season debut on Friday, and played 30 minutes in Saturday’s game. He has been coming off the bench, but playing starter's minutes so far. Alexis Ajinca is listed as day-to-day after missing the previous two games with a shoulder injury..
Phoenix Suns: Tyson Chandler has rejoined the team after being away to attend his mother’s funeral on Friday. Devin Booker is battling with an ankle issue, and was limited to only 18 minutes on Saturday after being listed as doubtful hours before the game. T.J. Warren was held out of Saturday’s game due to an illness after having to leave after only nine minutes of action in his previous game. Warren and Booker should both be considered game time decisions heading into Monday night’s game.
Portland Trail Blazers: Al-Farouq Aminu will remain out this week due to a calf strain he suffered back on November 8th, and will more than likely miss the rest of November.
Utah Jazz: George Hill has missed the last eight games for the Jazz with a sprained thumb, and should be considered day-to-day heading into Wednesday’s game against Denver. Derrick Favors sore knee that kept him out earlier this season could force him out for another extended period of time. Favors had a MRI done this past Wednesday, showing a bone contusion in his left knee, and the Jazz have no current timetable for his return.
