NBA Injury Report: Week of December 12
Atlanta: Kent Bazemore has missed the Hawks last two games with a sore right knee, but a MRI revealed no structural damage. He will be a game time decision for Tuesday night’s game against the Magic.
Boston: Isaiah Thomas is dealing with a groin issue that has kept him out for the Celtic’s last three games. While just a few days ago the Celtics head coach Brad Stevens stated that Thomas could be out for ten days to two weeks, Thomas stated that he plans to return for Wednesday’s game against the Spurs. There should be new information out on Thomas closer to game time.
Brooklyn: Jeremy Lin has finally been upgraded to probable for Monday night’s game against the Rockets. Since he has missed the past 17 games, look for the Nets to ease Lin back onto the court. Justin Hamilton is also listed as probable tonight after missing Saturday’s game with a migraine.
Dallas: Andrew Bogut has told the media that he expects to be out ten days to three-to-four weeks with a bone bruise in his right knee. Dwight Powell has been the main benefactor with Bogut being sidelined.
Denver: Wilson Chandler is listed as questionable for Monday night’s game against the Mavericks after being held out of Saturday’s game with a sore right hip.
Detroit: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was out for Sunday’s game with a right knee contusion, and hopes the few extra days of rest will have him ready for Wednesday’s game against the Mavericks. For now, consider Pope day-to-day.
Golden State: Zaza Pachulia has missed the past two games for the Warriors while dealing with a sore wrist. He will be a game time decision for Tuesday’s game against the Pelicans
Indiana: Monta Ellis has been ruled out of Monday’s game against the Hornets with a right groin strain. He was limited in his last game to just 19 minutes, and the upgrade from a sore groin to a strain may mean he will miss more than just one game.
Los Angeles Clippers: Blake Griffin is a game time decision for Monday night’s game against Portland, after being held out of Saturday’s game against New Orleans to help rest his sore right knee. Austin Rivers suffered a concussion during Saturday’s game against New Orleans, and is ruled out for Monday’s game. Rivers should be considered day-to-day for the rest of the week while under the league’s concussion protocol.
Los Angeles Lakers: The Lakers have become almost fully healthy again, with Tarik Black being the only player outside of Calderon who missed Sunday’s game against the Knicks. Black has been out for three straight games with an ankle injury, and is considered day-to-day heading into Monday night’s game against the Kings.
Memphis: Vince Carter will be a game time decision against Cleveland on Tuesday after missing the past seven straight games with a hip injury.
Miami: James Johnson (Shoulder), and Luke Babbitt (Hip) are both listed as questionable for Monday’s game against the Wizards. Justise Winslow (Wrist) and Dion Waiters (Groin) are both ruled out for Monday’s game, and are questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Pacers.
Minnesota: Nemanja Bjelica has missed the last two games while dealing with a sore ankle, and will be a game time decision for Tuesday’s game against the Bulls.
New York: Kyle O'Quinn was out for Sunday’s game against the Lakers with an ankle injury. O’Quinn should be considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday's game against the Suns.
Oklahoma City: Victor Oladipo left Sunday’s game early with a wrist injury, but X-Rays came back negative, and he also passed concussion testing. For now, consider Oladipo day-to-day while waiting on further news of his sprained wrist.
Orlando: Nikola Vucevic did not play during Saturday’s game against the Nuggets with a lower back bruise, but did go through the pre-game workout. Vucevic should be considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday’s game against the Hawks.
Philadelphia: Nerlens Noel made his season debut on Sunday, but left the game early with a sprained ankle. His next chance to play will be on Wednesday against the Raptors, and owners should wait for further reports on the injury after a practice or two. Jerryd Bayless (wrist), Joel Embiid (Elbow), and Sergio Rodriguez (Flu) are all considered game time decisions heading into Wednesday’s game after all three were out of Sunday’s game against the Pistons.
Phoenix: T.J. Warren is starting to take part in team practices after not having any contact since November 7th. There is no clear return date, but Warren can be cleared to play any day now.
Utah: Rodney Hood has missed the past two games for the Jazz while dealing with a hamstring injury, and George Hill has missed the month of December so far with a toe injury. Both players will be game time decisions heading into Utah’s next game on Wednesday against the Thunder.
