Vegas baby! This weekend though, what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas. In fact, expect teams to be using this weekend as a massive learning opportunity for 1.5-mile intermediates going forward and especially the second race at this track in the playoffs. The racing at this track has traditionally been a track position battle. With this new car though, we expect drivers to be able to pass more often and see more shuffling in the top-10 than we normally see.

Strategy Notes
This week we’ll see more dominator points than we did last week since there are 267 laps this time around. If we’re targeting good finishes, more than half of the top-10 finishers in the last five races, haven’t started there. That being said though, there are passing opportunities here as well with between 5-9 drivers putting up double-digit position differential marks. With 1.5-mile tracks, one thing to keep in mind is that lapping is relatively common here and if you check out the Track Breakdown, you’ll see just how commonly it’s happened over the last several races here.
Average Points By Starting Spots
These charts show the average points scored on each site over the last five races at Las Vegas. They are meant as a strategy guide for how the track races and not a guarantee that that spot will produce that many points again.
