Sunday’s main slate varies a bit by site, so keep an eye on that when setting your daily fantasy baseball lineups today. I found two starters that I like at a good value on the main slate, highlighted by Miami’s Pablo López. When looking for those value bats to round out your MLB DFS lineups, look to a couple Philadelphia righties, and two of my favorites for the day, Pittsburgh’s Oneil Cruz, and Minnesota’s Gio Urshela. As time gets closer and closer to lineup lock, be sure to check out all of our MLB daily fantasy baseball tools, including our daily projections, weather center and Vegas odds. Here are my favorite value plays on the main slate for Sunday, October 2.

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Pablo López, MIA ($8,400 FD/$8,200 DK/$34 Yahoo)

Over the last two weeks, the Brewers are only hitting .223 against right-handed pitching, not to mention a bottom-five strikeout rate (27.4%) during that span. Lopez has a 3.24 ERA on the road this year, and his 9.31 K/9 on the road exceeds his 8.07 mark at home. Over his last seven starts on the road, he’s allowed three or more earned runs in just two of them, and if we look at his last three starts overall, he’s posted a 2.79 ERA against the Mets, Cubs, and Phillies.

Tyler Anderson, LAD ($8,600 FD)

It’s hard to ignore Anderson on FanDuel, considering that he’s the third-highest priced pitcher on the full day slate over at Yahoo. Anderson has a 2.18 ERA at home this year, and he’s posted an impressive 0.90 WHIP. The strikeouts have been nearly nonexistent for Anderson particularly of late, and Colorado hasn’t been striking out much against lefties of late. However, Anderson can overcome the dearth of strikeouts by working deep into this game, as the Rockies have a putrid 69 wRC+ against southpaws over the last two weeks.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Oneil Cruz, PIT ($3,300 FD)

Adam Wainwright’s 2.61 home ERA might look nice, but Wainwright hasn’t been anything special of late. Over his last seven starts, Wainwright has a 5.15 ERA and a measly 3.93 K/9, and during that stretch, he’s served up a .358 average, .418 SLG, and .384 wOBA. Cruz has four multi-hit contests over his last five games, and he’s a threat to rack up fantasy points with every swing of the bat. Cruz has an .819 OPS and .253 ISO against right-handed pitching in 2022.

Gio Urshela, MIN ($2,700 FD/$15 Yahoo)

Outside of his .285 batting average this season, Urshela has been quite pedestrian. However, of late, Urshela is red hot, posting multiple hits in six of his last seven contests. The Minnesota infielder has a .290 average, .441 SLG, and 118 wRC+ against southpaws this season, and Detroit’s Joey Wentz has a 6.32 ERA, and .533 slugging percentage allowed at home in 2022. Oh, one final thing: At home against right-handers, he’s served up a .319/.377/.574 and a .401 wOBA.

Alec Bohm, PHI ($2,500 FD/$4,200 DK/$13 Yahoo)

Bohm may be struggling of late, notably over the past week or so, but we have to trust the numbers here. Bohm is hitting .348 with a .927 OPS against southpaws this season, and against this particular Washington southpaw, Bohm is 6-for-17 with two home runs, a .353 average, and .474 wOBA. In three starts against the Phillies this year, Patrick Corbin is 0-3 with a 10.97 ERA and 2.63 WHIP. Oh, he’s also allowed six home runs in just 10.2 innings.

Rhys Hoskins, PHI ($3,200 FD)

Were Bohm’s numbers not good enough for you above? Well, try this! Hoskins is 11-for-33 with four home runs, a .333 average, and .486 wOBA. Over the last 10 games, Hoskins is hitting .317 with two home runs, five doubles, and a 167 wRC+. Hoskins has a .976 OPS against southpaws in 2022, and when he’s on the road against a southpaw, he’s hitting .310 with a .962 OPS and 172 wRC+.

Will Brennan, CLE ($2,200 FD/$2,400 DK/$8 Yahoo)

Brennan has been solid for Cleveland this year, slashing .333/.400/.333 with two stolen bases, three runs scored, and four RBI. Brennan is hitting .364 with a .353 wOBA and 132 wRC+ against righties this season, and with Max Castillo’s struggles of late, Brennan should be an interesting value play today. Since joining Kansas City, Castillo has a 7.90 ERA, 1.68 WHIP, and measly 6.3 K-BB%.
