Happy Sunday and no better way to end your weekend than with some major League Baseball! Sunday baseball has a reputation for being out of the ordinary, so fantasy baseball managers must be on their toes as they build their MLB DFS lineups. Today’s DFS slate starts at 1:35p ET on DraftKings and FanDuel while Yahoo and DraftKings will cover seven games, FanDuel carries eight contests (the MIN/TEX at 2:35p) and Yahoo brings us 14 games throughout the afternoon. The weather forecast looks pretty good so far but make sure to check our MLB Weather Center before lock as well as the MLB Lineups, MLB Vegas Odds, and MLB News pages leading up to lock. To get the big arms and bats in your lineups you will need to find some value plays and that’s where we come in. I have spent the morning researching and coming up with the best point per dollar plays on the slate. Let’s get right into it and open Sunday’s MLB DFS Value Vault.

DFS PITCHING VALUE

Shane Baz (TB) $8.1K DraftKings/$8.2K FanDuel/$42 Yahoo

I am looking forward to today’s pitching matchup in the Rays/Reds game as rookie hurlers Shane Baz and Nick Lodolo go head-to-head. Both are my top value pitchers today so let’s start with Baz. He will be making his sixth start of the season and is coming off a six-inning performance where he gave up seven hits and only one earned run to earn his first win of the year against the Blue Jays. The 23-year-old is the Rays top prospect and has 28 strikeouts in 24.2 innings pitched to go along with a 2.92 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. He is facing the Reds who strike out 24% of the time against righties with a collective 12.4 SWStr% and have also struck out 162 times over the last 15 days, which is worst in the league. Baz has at least six strikeouts in each of his past four starts and is in a great spot to pick up the win today.

Nick Lodolo (CIN) $6.9K DraftKings/$7.6K FanDuel/$35 Yahoo

The second half of this rookie matchup features the Reds Nick Lodolo. After over two months on the IL Lodolo returned to the mound on Tuesday and looked strong with 4.2 shutout innings and eight strikeouts against the Mets. Just a couple months ago Lodolo was a hot prospect when he threw 15 swinging strikes and eight strikeouts in his second start and allowed just one run with seven strikeouts and no walks over 5.2 innings in his third start. He threw 89 pitches in his last appearance and today he is facing a Rays lineup that has struggle at times and have a slate-worst 25.5% strikeout rate against left-handers with a 27.8% Whf/Sw%.

DFS VALUE HITTERS

Nolan Jones (CLE) $2.0K DraftKings/$2.3K FanDuel/$13 Yahoo

Nolan Jones, one of the Guardians top prospects was promoted to the Major League just a few days ago. In two starts as a right fielder, he notched four hits including a double, a home run, and four RBI for 10 and 25 DK fantasy points. Today the left-handed batter gets a platoon advantage matchup over washed up Zack Greinke who carries an xFIP of 5.42 and a low 11.6% strikeout rate. Jones will probably go through the same cycle of adjustments that Steven Kwan and Oscar Gonzalez are currently dealing with but take advantage of the minimum price now for a player that opposing MLB teams have yet to see and study.

Darick Hall (PHI) $3.2K DraftKings/$3.2K FanDuel/$16 Yahoo

Darick Hall got the call up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley when Bryce Harper was placed on the IL. They were hoping that Hall would fill the lefty power void via the Harper injury, and he has exceeded expectations. He had hit 20 home runs in 72 games in the minors this season and immediately was inserted into the cleanup spot to go 11-for-38 with four home runs in ten games with the Phillies. He is coming off a 2-for-3 game yesterday where he hit a double and has three-double digit fantasy games out of his last five played. Today’s matchup is against young Cardinals right-hander Andre Pallante so Hall will have the split advantage where he has a .405 wOBA/.409 ISO with a 52% hard contact rate.

Michael Harris II (ATL) $3.800 DraftKings/$3.700 FanDuel/$21 Yahoo

Michael Harris II has emerged as one of the league's top rookies and settled in as the starting center fielder for the Braves yet all fantasy sites have yet to show him respect. The 21-year-old has hit .303 with seven home runs, 24 RBI, 28 runs, and six steals in his first 40 Major League games. The Braves are 29-11 over that stretch while Harris is 17th in the league in ISO (ahead of players like CJ Cron and Joc Pederson). Since his debut his 24 RBI are 11th in MLB ahead of such studs named Juan Soto and Freddie Freeman. The list can go on and on. Take advantage of this price because he did go up a bit from $3.300 on DK yesterday and if he continues to hit like this, he will be over $4,000 soon. Today he faces righty Pedro Espino (5.05 Xfip) and the left-handed Harris II has the splits advantage (.309 ISO/.365wOBA). Get Harris II in your Braves stacks!
