Let’s kick off today’s plays with a “scorcher”  by picking on the pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Montgomery was one of the last pitchers to sign with a team this offseason and it has clearly showed up in the results with the lefty owning a 6.58 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP over his 10 starts this season.

Right-handed hitters are batting .341 off of him with a .970 OPS.

Today he draws a White Sox offense that has been surprisingly good of late and that will be loading the top half of their lineup with right-handed bats.

I think Chicago gets it going early in this one as Montgomery continues to struggle and he gives up a run in the first innings here today.

Andrew Vaughn Underdog MLB Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI

Now for the White Sox bats against Jordan Montgomery. 

Vaughn is hitting .340 with five homers during the month of June and against left-handed pitching during the month he is hitting .385 with a .463 wOBA and a .308 ISO.

As we detailed above, Montgomery is having a very hard time against right-handed hitters this season.

Given his hot stretch and strong numbers against left-handed pitching this matchup is setting up to be a good one for the White Sox first baseman and hopefully with one swing of the bat in the first inning he can help us cash both of these plays today!
