Luis Castillo Underdog MLB Picks Today, 4/2: Baseball Projections + More

With a full slate of MLB games throughout the day, Wednesday is the perfect day to get your Underdog accounts loaded up and start winning some money playing MLB DFS Pick ‘Em contests.
As we move a little further into this fledgling MLB season, teams are ready to give their aces their second turn through the rotation. We’ve got some top names out there like Paul Skenes, Zack Wheeler and Tarik Skubal, so expect the multipliers to be a little tight on the strikeouts today.
But with a full 15-game slate, we’ll have plenty of opportunities to win money with our Underdog MLB picks.

Luis Castillo MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 17.5 Outs
As expected, the strikeout numbers and other pitcher picks for Skubal are juiced up, so we’ll just go to the other side of the game and focus on the home start for Castillo. It’s his second home start where he has a career 3.11 ERA as opposed to the 4.08 ERA on the road.
His first start saw him cruise through five innings on 83 pitches and I actually believe the Athletics lineup he faced has more pop than that of the Tigers. I think we get a nice pitcher's duel here and Castillo should have little trouble giving us a full six innings this time around.

Lawrence Butler MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
While Butler is only batting .182 on the season, he’s making good contact, but just having a little bit of bad luck early. That should change today facing Jameson Taillon who pitches to a ton of contact.
He allowed nine hits though 4.1 innings his first time up and now makes his second-straight road start and in an extremely hitter-friendly environment. We have lofty expectations for Butler this season and the lefty bat should play nicely against Taillon who is allowing a .327 wOBA to left-handed hitters throughout his career.
Framber Valdez MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 17.5 Outs
Let’s lock down another solid pitcher pick and lean on Valdez going deep into this game against the San Francisco Giants. We could look at his strikeouts, but since the Giants are only fanning 19-percent of the time against southpaws, we’ll look to him for outs and how deep he can go into this game.
The Astros let him throw seven full innings against the Mets and he only needed 90 pitches to get it done. Are we worried that the Giants lineup will work the count more and force him out early? I’m not. Let’s take a lower multiplier and lock it down. Remember, we’re just casually building our bankroll here at the start of the season. No reason to try and shoot the moon just yet.
