Zack Wheeler Sleeper Fantasy MLB Pick: More Than 6.5 Strikeouts (1.6x)

The Braves offense got a boost when Michael Harris returned and immediately took another hit with Austin Riley’s fracture. They’ve been a high-strikeout offense against right-handed pitching notching the fifth-highest K-rate at 24.9%. 

Wheeler’s been missing a lot of bats recently as he’s notched a 10.5 K/9 and a 29.4% K-rate as well. He’s been north of this number in five of those seven starts, too.

 

 

 

Martin Perez Sleeper Fantasy MLB Pick: More Than 3.5 Strikeouts (1.5x)

Since he stepped onto the scene with the Padres three starts ago, Martin Perez has been excellent in every facet of the game. He’s allowed two earned runs or less in each start, had little to no luck on his side, and has, most importantly here, missed bats. 

He’s struck out six or more batters in three consecutive starts and although that’s not exactly who he is, he should continue missing bats in this spot. Over the last month, the Twins are striking out nearly 24% of the time. They’ve also been a bottom-10 offense in most categories outside of ISO, so he should pitch deep into this game and rack up at least four punchouts.
